BSNL prepaid users have been gifted by the Ministry of Telecommunications. Users’ SIMs will not be closed till April 20 and the balance of 10 rupees will also be given by the government.

Crores of prepaid SIM card users of BSNL have received a gift from the Ministry of Telecommunications. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has instructed to keep BSNL prepaid SIM card users’ numbers operational till 20 April without any recharge.BSNL Prepaid

Not only this, but a balance of Rs 10 will also be given as an incentive to these users with immediate effect. The Telecom Minister has announced this due to a nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus. This order will be applicable for prepaid users of every telecom circle of BSNL. The Union Minister said in his statement that this decision has been taken by the government to keep people connected to their families till April 20.

Earlier, other public telecom companies were also instructed by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority) to increase the validity of prepaid users whose validity is expiring during the lockdown. TRAI asked Jio, Vodafone-Idea, and Airtel to ensure that users should continue to receive service uninterrupted during the 21-day lock-down. TRAI has asked all the telecom companies to take appropriate steps for this on a priority basis.

According to the PTI report, TRAI in its statement has instructed all the telecom companies that users should not face any kind of connectivity during the lockdown. The authority said that telecom is the essential service of the people and said that people should not face any problem due to this. Telecom companies took the necessary steps for this. However, there has been no official reply from any telecom operator following this directive from TRAI.
