Reliance Jio has introduced UPI Autopay for its Prepaid and Postpaid subscribers. Jio has introduced its new service in association with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It is a kind of payment service. According to Jio’s claim, Jio has become the first telecom company to have UPI based AutoPay.
What is UPI Autopay
Reliance Jio has launched the UPI based Autopay service keeping in mind the convenience of Jio customers. Actually, it is often seen that every month customers have to remember the recharge date. Also, if you forget the recharge date, the telecom service gets stopped. However, Jio’s new UPI Autopay service will free you from the hassle of frequent requests every month. Also, you will not have to remember the date of expiry of the recharge. Recharge will be automatically debited from your account.
Reliance Jio customers will be able to set up instructions for the UPI based autopay service on the My Jio app. However, Jio customers will not have to enter any UPI PIN on recharge up to Rs 5000. But if recharge above Rs 5000, then UPI PIN has to be entered. Jio users will also be able to update their tariff plan from time to time. You can also make other changes as well.
Kunal, Chief of Product Officer, NPCI said that the partnership with Jio is going to significantly change the experience of the customer’s mobile tariff plan recharge. Also, Jio customers will get extra layer of security from NPCI. He claimed that the UPI based autopay service is completely secure.
“We believe our collaboration will change the way Jio customers experience the renewal of their mobile tariff plans. With UPI AUTOPAY, it’s our constant endeavour at NPCI to provide an extra layer of comfort and convenience to all the customers for their recurring spends and payments,” Kunal Kalawatia, Chief of Products, NPCI said.
Jio users will no longer need to remember their recharge renewal date or bill payment date and perform manual, Kiran Thomas, Director, Jio, said.
