ISP service provider Tata Sky Broadband has introduced a new data rollover facility for their subscribers who are on fixed GB plans. The feature has already been updated on the website.

Internet and DTH service provider Tata Sky launched a new feature for their fixed GB plan subscribers called data rollover. Tata Sky has already updated its broadband website with the fixed GB plans and has highlighted to get the data rollover facility. The information on the Tata Sky Broadband website, however, does not inform the subscribers of the limit which is allowed for effective data rollover. The data rollover facility is a feature that allows users to utilize leftover data on the next billing cycle.

For example, a Tata Sky subscriber is using a Rs 999 plan with 200 GB on tap with a speed of 50Mbps. In a single month, assume the subscriber uses only 150GB and the remaining 50GB is leftover. So with the new feature, the remaining 50GB will be added to the next month’s data which means users will enjoy 200GB + 50GB of remaining data from the last cycle.

Reliance Jio has been working on its broadband service for a while now with the company recently announcing that the service will go commercial starting September 5. With the launch date of the JioFiber service closing in, competing services have started to rework their plans to ensure they don’t get over-run by JioFiber’s aggressive plans.

To this effect, Tata Sky Broadband has announced that it is giving its users the option of choosing a long-term plan and get added validity of six months for free. As per the company, this offer would see Tata Sky Broadband customers choose a plan for 12 months and see the company provide an additional six months of service for free – taking the overall benefit to 18 months in Hyderabad.

The Tata Sky offer is available on both Unlimited and Fixed GB plans the company is providing right now. These plans are available across 21 cities right now where Tata Sky has its broadband services. Tata Sky is extending up to 100 Mbps speeds without any FUP limit on many of its plans. These plans are expected to take on JioFiber which also offers similar speeds and no FUP plans.
