Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi entered an all-new category on Tuesday with the launch of Redmi RedmiBook Pro and RedmiBook e-Learning Edition in India.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi entered an all-new category on Tuesday with the launch of Redmi RedmiBook Pro and RedmiBook e-Learning Edition in India. Yes, Xiaomi had launched a few laptops last year but came from its premium Mi sub-brand while the new machines are the first from the house of Redmi. Those who have followed Xiaomi would know that it targets more budget conscious users with the Redmi sub-brand and the new RedmiBook series is an example of the same.

RedmiBook Pro price in India has been set at Rs. 49,999 for the lone 8GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration that is available in the Charcoal Grey color option. In contrast, the RedmiBook e-Learning Edition carries a price tag of Rs. 41,999 for the base 8GB + 256GB variant and Rs. 44,999 for the 8GB + 512GB option. Both laptops will go on sale in the country from 12 pm (noon) on Friday, August 6. The availability will take place through Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.

In terms of launch offers, the RedmiBook Pro will include up to Rs. 3,500 instant discount that will be given to customers making their purchase with an HDFC Bank card or EMI transactions. The RedmiBook e-Learning Edition, on the other hand, will be available with up to Rs. 2,500 instant discount for HDFC Bank customers.

Intel i5-1300H processor has been used in RedmiBook series laptops. The laptop has been introduced with integrated Iris Xe graphics support. The laptop will come with 8GB DDR4 RAM support. Also, it will get support for 512GB nvme SSD storage. The laptop has a battery of 46WHr. It has been introduced with 65W fast charger support. The laptop can be charged from zero to 50 percent in 35 minutes. The company claims that the laptop can be used comfortably for 10 hours in a single charge. Meaning the laptop can be used without charge in 9 hours of office time in a single charge.

Windows 10 Home, Office Home will be supported on the laptop. RedmiBook laptop comes with Windows 10 Home and free Windows 11 upgrade. The RedmiBook e-learning edition has been launched by the company, which will come in 256GB and 512GB storage options. The laptop will have a 15.6-inch FullHD+ display. The laptop is 19.9mm thick and weighs 1.8kg. Its weight is 1.8 kg. Its resolution is 1920×1080 pixels. 81.8% screen to body ratio is being given in RedmiBooks. RedmiBook laptop will come with a 720P HD integrated camera and dual microphone setup.

Two 2W stereo speakers have been given in the RedmiBook laptop. The laptop comes with a pre-installed DTS audio processing app. Connectivity features in RedmiBook include 2x USB 3.2 Gen, 1x USB 2.0, 1x HDMI port, 1x Gigabit Ethernet port. The laptop comes with a 3.5 mm combo audio jack and an SD card reader. It has been introduced with Bluetooth 5.0 support.

    Mi Notebook 14

The Mi Notebook was launched with a 14-inch display and an FHD panel with an anti-glare coating. Xiaomi had used an Intel 10th Gen Core i5 processor as standard on all the variants, but the base model packed Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics whereas the top-end model got the Nvidia MX 250 card. All of this for Rs 41,999 was a head-turning deal last year same time and makes for a sensible recommendation even for now.

    Mi Notebook 14

Sadly, the standard Mi Notebook 14 has been out of stock in the country for a very long time. Xiaomi’s official website is simply showing the Notify Me option and with the Redmibook launched around the same price, it won’t be surprising if the laptop silently disappears from the Indian market. Just to be clear, Xiaomi has not officially shown any intentions like that but, it’s a strategy electronics makers generally follow.
