OPPO has increased the prices of several smartphones in India, with the latest revision affecting the Reno16c, A6 5G, A6x 5G and A6c. The hikes range from Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,000 depending on the model and storage configuration, with the revised prices taking effect from September 22, 2026.
OPPO A6 5G, A6x 5G and A6c get costlier
The OPPO A6 5G has received one of the largest increases in this round. Its 6GB + 256GB variant has reportedly gone up by Rs 4,000, while other variants have also seen price revisions.
The A6x 5G has received increases of up to Rs 2,000, while the A6c has seen a smaller Rs 1,000 increase. The revised prices put some of OPPO’s budget smartphones into higher price brackets than before.
OPPO Reno16c price increased by up to Rs 4,000
The Reno16c 5G has also received a substantial price increase. The 8GB + 256GB configuration has reportedly become Rs 4,000 more expensive, taking its revised price to Rs 56,999, according to the latest price revision report.
The change follows earlier price revisions for the Reno16c. OPPO’s official India listing showed the phone at Rs 53,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant as of September 9, while its current listed pricing has since changed.
The Reno16c features a 6.69-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset, 7,000mAh battery, 80W charging and a 50MP main camera paired with a 50MP 3.5x telephoto camera.
Rising memory costs add pressure on smartphone prices
The latest OPPO price increase comes amid a broader rise in memory and component costs. Global DRAM and other memory prices have been under pressure as demand from AI infrastructure and data centres absorbs a larger share of available memory production.
Reuters reported earlier this month that smaller smartphone and laptop manufacturers are already dealing with rising memory costs and supply constraints, with the pressure expected to continue into 2027. Counterpoint has also forecast a decline in global smartphone shipments this year, partly because higher memory costs are making some devices less profitable.
However, the specific September 22 OPPO price revision should be described as a price change amid these broader industry cost pressures rather than attributing the entire increase directly to DRAM without an explicit statement from OPPO.
OPPO has raised smartphone prices multiple times
This is not the first OPPO price revision in India this year. The company increased prices across several A6 and K14-series smartphones in August, with some variants becoming up to Rs 2,000 more expensive in that round.
The repeated increases suggest that manufacturers are having to reassess smartphone pricing as component costs rise. For buyers, the effect is particularly visible in the budget and mid-range segments, where even a Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,000 increase can move a phone into a different competitive price bracket.
