The demand for smartphones is increasing very fast around the world. Now India has also become the hub of the smartphone market in this segment. Every year companies keep offering one of their smartphones. In this episode, the sale of JioPhone Next, which was unveiled two months ago during the 44th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries in June this year, will start in India from September 10. This is Jio’s most affordable and entry-level smartphone and is sold by Google Inc.

Reliance Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani had said that JioPhone will be the world’s most affordable smartphone. While Jio has already launched two feature phones, the JioPhone Next, which will be released on September 10, will be the company’s first smartphone. During the announcement of this smartphone, Jio has not disclosed any more specifications. However, the latest leaks have hinted at certain features and specifications of the upcoming affordable smartphone.

    Expected Specifications of JioPhone Next

According to the information, JioPhone Next will come with Android 11 (Go Edition) and will have a single rear camera with HD+ display. The smartphone will feature a 1440×720 resolution display and Qualcomm’s entry-level 215 chipset that also powers the Nokia 1.4. It will also come pre-installed with Google’s Camera Go and Duo Go apps.

It will have 32 GB eMMC 4.5 storage with 2 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM. There are more features in JioPhone Next which include dual SIM support, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. In the camera department, the JioPhone Next is expected to pack a 13-MP OmniVision OV13B10 lens that supports HDR, FHD+ video recording, and also has Night Mode. It has 8 MP GC0834W Front Camera by GalaxyCore.

    JioPhone Next in Affordable Price

As suggested by Mukesh Ambani, the smartphone will be the cheapest 4G smartphone in the world. However, at Rs 4,999, the iTel A53 Pro is currently the cheapest 4G smartphone available in India. So it is likely that the price of the new smartphone will be less than Rs 5,000. JioPhone Next is the company’s attempt to make 4G handsets more accessible in India for those who still rely on 2G networks. Reliance Jio has announced that the smartphone will be available for purchase in India from September 10 on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Jio, which was launched in 2016 by Asia’s richest business man Mukesh Ambani, has disrupted the Indian telecom sector, leading to a steep drop in the prices of telecom services. In the years following the launch of Jio, the telecom sector was selling its business with several loss-making companies. Now there are only 4 players left in the arena; Jio, Airtel, VodafoneIdea and Government BSNL. Currently, Jio is the market leader with over 431 million (43.1 crore) subscribers.
