Google Map India has approached the 77-year megastar, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, for giving voice directions in the navigation app.

Most of you will be using an Android Smartphone and you have also used Google Maps many times. Usually, a woman’s voice is heard in Google Maps, but just think the next time you use Google Maps, you will get to hear a familiar voice. Yes, it is possible that soon you can see Amitabh Bachchan telling the way in Google Maps.

A mid-day report claimed that talks are going on between Google and Amitabh Bachchan to give voice in Google Map, although this has not yet been officially confirmed by Google or Amitabh Bachchan. Please tell that currently the voice of New York’s Karen Jacobson is heard in Google Maps. Having said this, Google has recently released many features for its maps, with the help of which users will be able to find out which places are banned due to infection during the journey. Along with these features, users will also be able to know how crowded at which station and which train or bus is running late.

As of now, Google Maps features the voice of Karen Jacobsen, who is a New York-based entertainer. She is also the voice of Apple’s Siri voice assistant. Neither Google nor Bachchan has commented on it.

In 2018, Google partnered with film production house Yash Raj Films (YRF) to incorporate dialogues of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s character Firangi from the movie Thugs Of Hindostan into Google Maps. That was the first major Bollywood deal by the search giant for its mapping service.

Google has a long history of localising the experience on its products to attract the masses in India. From Indic language support to two-wheeler mode, Google Maps has been one of the key offerings of the Mountain View, California-based company that adds new features for Indian users. Google Maps also during the initial coronavirus lockdown phase helped people connect with public food and night shelters in the country.

Late last month, Google Maps ramped up support for local businesses and made it easier for Android users to share their location using six-digit Plus Codes. Google also started showing the latest updates and health advice from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and international health authorities across its products and services including Google Search, Google Maps, and YouTube.

At the same time, the company says that with the help of users these features will also help in maintaining social distancing. According to the information provided in the company’s blog post, these transit alert features of Google Maps will soon be launched in other countries including Argentina, France, India, USA, UK.
