According to the Telecom Subscription Data as of November 2019 press release by TRAI, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio has added 5.61 million new users onboard.
Reliance Jio added the most customers in November 2019. According to the information published on the website of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio added 5.61 million new customers in November. It is clear from this that despite increasing the IUC charge, customers have bought the sim of Reliance Jio. The company had announced a charge of 6 paise from users for making calls on other networks.
It was told The number of telephone subscribers in India declined from 1,204.85 million at the end of Oct-19 to 1,175.88 million at the end of Nov-19, thereby showing a monthly decline rate of 2.40%. Urban telephone subscription declined from 681.69 million at the end of Oct-19 to 665.99 million at the end of Nov-19, and the rural subscription also declined from 523.16 million to 509.89 million during the same period. The monthly decline rates of urban and rural subscription were 2.30% and 2.54% respectively during the month of Nov-19.
Total wireless subscribers (2G, 3G & 4G) declined from 1,183.40 million at the end of Oct-19 to 1,154.39 million at the end of Nov-19, thereby registering a monthly decline rate of 2.43%. Wireless subscription in urban areas declined from 662.92 million at the end of Oct-19 to 647.33 million at the end of Nov-19, and wireless subscription in rural areas also declined from 520.48 million at the end of Oct-19 to 507.26 million at the end of Nov-19. Monthly decline rates of urban and rural wireless subscriptions were 2.35% and 2.54% respectively.
As on 30th November 2019, the private access service providers held 89.51% market share of the wireless subscribers whereas BSNL and MTNL, the two PSU access service providers, had a market share of only 10.49%.
The TRAI data also reveals that Reliance Jio is now leading telecom operator in the country and Vodafone Idea Limited and Bharti Airtel is now slipped to second and third position respectively. Reliance Jio is now holding a market share of 32.04% followed by Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel holding 29.12% and 28.35% respectively. At the end of November 2019, Reliance Jio officially confirmed a subscriber base number of 369.9 million, followed by Vodafone Idea ltd with 336.3 and Bharti Airtel with 327.3 million subscriber base.
Bharti Airtel has the maximum proportion (95.71%) of its active wireless subscribers (VLR) as against its total wireless subscribers (HLR) on the date of peak VLR in the month of Nov-19 and MTNL has the minimum proportion of VLR (27.34%) of its HLR during the same period.
