    Sundar Pichai warns about threats to internet freedom in countries

    Google’s Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai said that free and open internet is being disrupted in many countries, which is worrying. A warning has been issued on their behalf about the dangers of banning the Internet.

    Google CEO Sundar Pichai has made an important comment about the new rules introduced by the Government of India, which may not be liked by the Government of India. In fact, the central government has implemented new rules for social media platforms, news publishers, OTT websites, and search engines like Google.

    A statement has come from Google in this matter. Google’s Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai said that free and open internet is being disrupted in many countries, which is worrying. A warning has been issued on their behalf about the dangers of banning the Internet.

    Wrong to block internet flow

    Sundar Pichai said in an interview with the BBC that many countries have done the work of restricting the information. Also, the matter is not being taken seriously. He referred to the controversial tax, privacy, data, and artificial intelligence issues. Sundar Pichai said that different countries have different rules regarding online content, which works to stop internet flow. It works to take any country back.

    “In each country now there is a debate what speech is OK and what should be allowed… in some ways I think we pull back from the bigger picture (which is that) many countries around the world are restricting the flow of information and drawing much more rigid boundaries,” he said during an exclusive interview to BBC at the Google headquarters at Silicon Valley in California.

    In response to different laws for online content in different countries, Pichai said that free and open internet can be a good force if it is used properly. Pichai said that all the countries are caught in the debate whether the speech is right, and what should be allowed. He said that many countries around the world are restricting the flow of information and drawing very strict boundaries, which is worrying.

    Born in Tamil Nadu, Sundar Pichai, remembering his native country India, said that India’s roots are very deep in him. He said that he is definitely a US citizen. But still, an India lives in them, where democracy resides. Speaking to the BBC, he also urged countries with strong democratic traditions and values ​​to stand up against tying the internet to different laws.
