The 44th Reliance AGM is set to take place on June 24, where the telco giant is expected to release the Jio Phone 5G alongside a few more products. Keeping the expected launch in mind, we decided to detail everything known about this device.
The annual general meeting of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) will be held on the upcoming Thursday, June 24, 2021. There can be big announcements related to 5G and 5G smartphones on this day. Also, on this day Reliance’s cheap 5G smartphone can knock. Although the launch of the Jio 5G phone has not been officially announced by Reliance Jio.
Over the past couple of months, we’ve heard reports about this affordable 5G smartphone. Some reports suggest that the device could be priced under Rs 5,000, whereas others point towards a price as low as Rs 2,500. During a virtual conference with select reporters from the Asia Pacific recently, Sundar Pichai mentioned that Google is working closely with the telecom giant to bring the promised “affordable” smartphone in India.
Jio laptop can be launched
Having said this, the launch of an affordable 5G smartphone was announced in the RIL meeting last year. This will be the budget smartphone of the company. Reliance Jio’s 5G smartphone is being made with the help of Google. Custom Android or Android One operating system can be given in the phone. In some leaked reports, the launch of Jio Book Laptop and JioBook is being expected.
Jio 5G Phone in India
According to the leaked report, the Jio 5G phone can be offered with a 2.4-inch TFT display. Its resolution is 320X240 pixels. The phone will come with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. As a camera, a 2MP rear camera can be given in the phone for this photography. At the same time, support for VGA camera can be found in the front. The phone can be offered with 500MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt storage.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G can be used as a processor. A 2000mAh battery can be given to the phone for power backup. Social media platforms like Youtube and WhatsApp can be supported as phone pre-loaded features.
Jio has a history of producing entry-level devices, and the launch of Jio Phone 5G will be a step further in that direction. The price of the Jio 5G phone has not been disclosed. As far as the pricing of Jio Phone 5G is concerned, the device could be priced under Rs 5,000 in India.
Reports also suggest that both Jio and Google are facing issues with the manufacturing process of this phone. This has mainly to do with the supply chain issues. So it’s possible that Jio may announce the phone in the upcoming event and make it available for the consumers later in the year. However, a more recent report says that there will be limited inventory in the initial phase.
