Youtube Shorts will be officially launched in many countries soon but before that this app is becoming very popular worldwide. This can be gauged from the fact that it is getting thousands of views daily during testing.

After the short video platform TikTok was banned, many apps have been knocked in the market as its alternative. Youtube is also working on ‘Youtube Shorts’ and the company has officially started testing this app as well. However, this app has been introduced for testing in the Indian market and the company is preparing to launch it in many other countries soon. Even before it was launched worldwide, this app is becoming very popular among users. Its popularity can be gauged from the fact that this app is getting 3.5 billion daily views.

According to the report, YouTube CEO Susan has reported that YouTube shorts video app is getting 3.5 billion views daily. We will rollout this app in many countries this year. The Youtube Shorts app was launched in India in September last year, in which users can create and post videos of 15 seconds. The company will soon integrate it with Direct YouTube, after which users will get a chance to watch and upload short videos in YouTube itself.

Youtube Shorts is currently available in the beta version and will allow users to upload 60-second videos. Users can also add music of their choice with their video and there will be no need to pay any separate charge for it. Along with this, there will be facility of speed control along with recording, that is, users can record any kind of video fast or slow in it. A timer is also given in this app, that is, you can set a timer during video recording.

Susan Wojcikci explained the feature in a note laying out her 2021 priorities. “So far, videos in our new Shorts player – which helps people around the world watch short videos on YouTube – are receiving an impressive 3.5 billion daily views!” she said. “We’re looking forward to expanding Shorts to more markets this year.” YouTube, a subsidiary of Google, unveiled Shorts in mid-September, describing the videos as “a new way to express yourself in 15 seconds or less.”

The feature, directly integrated into the existing YouTube interface, is currently only available in India as part of development work. The new format is seen as a way for Google to compete with Gen Z-favorite TikTok, which currently has 700 million users worldwide.

Former President Donald Trump had threatened to ban TikTok owned by Chinese group ByteDance from the United States when he accused the company, without formal proof, of spying on behalf of Beijing. Facebook-owned Instagram responded to TikTok’s popularity with their own short video format called Reels last August. And in November, Snapchat launched Spotlight, a public feed of content produced by users.
