Xiaomi is going to launch many new products in the year 2021. It also includes the company’s new smart TV. Actually, Xiaomi company is preparing to launch a 65-inch smart TV of its sub-brand Redmi. This TV of Redmi can be launched by March this year. However, the launch date has not been disclosed by the company at the moment. The leaked report claimed that Redmi’s upcoming smart TV will be India’s cheapest smart TV. According to an online report, Redmi Smart TV can be offered in a 55 or 65-inch screen option.
Demand for 65 inch smart tv will increase
Notably, the market of 65 inches smart TV in India is quite small. One reason for this is the expensive 65-inch smart TV in India. In such a situation, if the Redmi Smart TV is offered at a lower price point, the demand for 65 inches Smart TV in the Indian Smart TV market may increase rapidly. Currently, Xiaomi Mi TV 4X comes with a 65-inch screen size Smart TV in India. It costs Rs 54,999. It has been launched in September of 2019.
The Redmi Smart TV X65 was launched in China in May last year. The price of the smart gadget is Rs 37,000. Redmi Smart TV has been introduced in China in 50, 55, and 65-inch screen size options. The Redmi Smart TV X Series was launched with a 4K UHD resolution. The Smart TV has four 12.5W speakers. Also, Dolby Audio and DTS-HD capabilities have been given. The TV has a slim and bezel-less display. Smart TV has a screen to body ratio of 97%. Apart from this, a far-field voice recognition feature has been provided for voice commands in smart TVs.
While we don’t know which specific Redmi TV will make it to India, it is speculated that it could be the Redmi Smart TV X series. Having already been launched in China, the Redmi TV comes in three size variants: a 50-inch model, a 55-inch model, and a 65-inch model. But, we don’t know how many variants the company will launch in India. There are chances that Redmi could launch an India-specific Redmi TV too.

Additionally, there is support for Dolby audio and DTS-HD audio system, quad 12.5W speakers with an 8-unit subwoofer, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and XiaoAI smart assistant. The Redmi TVs run Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI based on Android.
There is no word on the Redmi TV pricing in India. However, considering it starts at CNY 1,999 (around Rs 21,200), we can expect the Redmi smart TVs to fall under Rs 20,000 in the country, giving a tough competition to the Realme TV, the OnePlus TV, and even the Xiaomi Mi TV that starts at Rs 15,999.
