Last year, the regulator announced new regulations for cable TV and DTH users. From March 1, the regulator can show users 200 channels instead of 100 for Rs 130.

Telecom Regulator Authority of India (TRAI)has recently announced new rates for cable TV and DTH users. According to this new regulation, cable TV and DTH service providers can charge users a maximum of Rs 12 for any single channel, earlier this rate was Rs 19. These rates will be charged on selecting individual channels or bouquet channels. Let us tell you that last year, the regulator announced new regulations for cable TV and DTH users, according to which cable TV and DTH users will pay only for the channels they want to watch.

The new cable TV and DTH rules, implemented last year, require users to show 100 channels at Rs 130 (without tax). In which users have to show free to air channels of Doordarshan and other channels. This charge takes cable TV and DTH service providers as network capacity fees. After the implementation of this rule, cable TV and DTH service providers are offering three types of plans to their users. These plans include a-la-carate, channel bouquet or service provider bouquet to the users.

Under a-la-carate, users can choose channels of their choice. In this, users have the option to select free to air and paid channels in addition to minimum Rs 130. Whatever paid channels the users select, they only have to pay for those channels. At the same time, users can choose the channel packs offered by the service providers or the packs offered by the channel providers.

From March 1, the regulator can show users 200 channels instead of 100 for Rs 130. These channels include free-to-air. After the implementation of this new rule, users can now be offered more channels for less money. In such a situation, from March 1, users may have to pay less to watch their favorite channels.
