    Tata Sky Offering Free Credit, Check The Eligible Criteria

    During the lockdown, DTH operator Tata Sky has provided various benefits to its users and now the company is also providing credit to the users. This credit will be given to the same users who subscribed to Sony Happy Packs. Indeed, Sony broadcasters have removed Sony Mix, Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD channels from their portfolio. From now on users will not be able to enjoy these channels. In this case, Tata Sky users who have already subscribed to Sony Happy Packs will be provided credit in their Tata Sky account.Tata Sky

    According to the Tata Sky Broadcaster Pack document, Sony has discontinued Sony MIX, Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD. At the same time, the prices of channels have also been cut. But due to the national lockdown, we are unable to apply the low price of Sony Pack and Tata Sky Pack in the system. However, the benefit of the reduction in the price of packs will be given in the form of a credit to users holding the affected packs in their Tata Sky account.

    “Effective from 31-3-2020, Sony has discontinued Sony MIX, Sony ESPN and Sony ESPN HD,” Tata Sky said in its note. “Due to the national lockdown, we are unable to incorporate the reduced prices of the impacted Sony packs and corresponding Tata Sky packs in our systems. However, the benefit of the price reduction will be passed on, to the eligible subscribers holding the impacted packs, as credits to their Tata Sky account.”

    Earlier, Tata Sky provided 10 paid channels to the public for free. Its deadline was extended to 30 April 2020. Users can watch these channels for free. The channels that will be made available for free include Dance Studio, Fun Learn, Cooking, Fitness, Smart Manager, Vedic Maths, Classroom, among others.Tata Sky

    Sony Discontinued Three Channels to ‘Realign’ its Portfolio

    In March, Sony mentioned that it could discontinue its three channels to “realign” its portfolio. Sony India entered into a settlement with ESPN in 2015 with the channels going dwell in 2016.     Following the discontinuation of its three channels, Sony India’s portfolio has now shrunk to 26 channels together with 16 normal definition channels and 10 excessive definition channels.
