    Reliance Jio Launches in-flight Plans starting at Rs 499

    Reliance Jio has brought in 3 in-flight Plans for connectivity calls that are priced at Rs 499, Rs 699 and Rs 999.

    Reliance Jio has announced the introduction of mobile service in 22 flights of international routes. For this, Jio has also released an initial plan of Rs 499 per day. The airlines that will provide Jio’s mobile service include Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Euro Wings, Lufthansa, Malindo Air, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and Alitalia.

    With the introduction of in-flight mobile service, Jio will become the second Indian telecom company to provide in-flight mobile service. Earlier, the Tata group firm Nelco started in-flight mobile service at Vistara Airlines of London Routes. Three international roaming packs have been announced in India by Jio for those traveling abroad.

    This plan comes in 499 rupees, 699 rupees, and 999 rupees. One day validity is available on these three plans. All these plans will be provided with 100 minutes for outgoing calls. Also, 100 SMS will be available. Jio will get 250MB mobile data on a plan of Rs 499. At the same time, 500 MB data will be available on the plan of Rs 699, while the plan for Rs 999 will come with 1 GB of data.

    However, there will be no facility for incoming calls on all three plans of Jio, while incoming SMS will be free. Users using the in-flight mobile service for the first time will have to activate the plan on the Jio network. International roaming services will not work on JioPhone and Jio Wifi devices.

    The 22 partner airlines include Aer Lingus, Air Serbia, Alitalia, Asiana Airlines, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Egypt Air, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Euro wings, EVA Air, Kuwait Airways, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Malindo Air, SAS Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, SWISS, TAP Air Portugal, Turkish Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways and Virgin Atlantic. Users can further view the regions where internet connectivity will be present in the “view details” section through https://www.jio.com/jio-international-roaming-recharge-plans.

    Reliance Jio has further rolled out two value packs with wifi calling

    Jio’s Rs 1102 value pack offers unlimited incoming and outgoing voice calls with WiFi calling which includes voice calls to Indian numbers with video calls allowed for Jio numbers, data, and SMS benefits. The pack is applicable for more than 100 countries with a validity of 28 days.

    Jio’s Rs 1202 value pack also offers the same benefits as the Ra 1102 plan with the exception of availability in 170 countries. The benefits include unlimited incoming and outgoing voice calls with WiFi calling which includes voice calls to Indian numbers with video calls allowed for Jio numbers, data, and SMS benefits. The pack has a validity of 28 days.

    Outgoing local calls cost Rs 2 per minute whereas outgoing international calls cost Rs 100 per minute. Jio noted that Wi-Fi calling facility is allowed only for call back to India. Incoming calls on Wi-Fi can be received from anywhere in the world at Re 1. While outgoing SMS over Wi-Fi is not allowed., all incoming text messages will be delivered without any charge.

    Further, voice calling through Wi-Fi will be charged at Re 1 per minute to India. Users must note that video calls through Wi-Fi can be made on a Jio number only. Users will be charged at Re 1 per minute plus the data deduction will occur from the data balance available in the base plan.
