Redmi K40 series specifications leaked ahead of launch: All you should know

Some of its features have been revealed in the new leak that surfaced about Redmi K40. Smartphones to be launched under this series will have powerful display quality and battery capacity besides powerful performance.

There has been a discussion for quite some time that Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is preparing to launch its new Redmi K40 series in the market. Which will be an upgraded version of the Redmi K30 series. It is expected that the company can launch the new series by the end of this year. So far, many leaks and revelations have come out about the Redmi K40 series. At the same time, a new report has been revealed that features such as a 120Hz refresh rate will be seen in the new smartphone. However, no announcement has been made by the company regarding its launch date or specifications yet.

Tipster Digital Chat Station has shared a post on Twitter informing that the upcoming Redmi K40 series will get a 120Hz refresh rate for the great viewing experience that will come with the OLED display. Apart from this, punch hole cutout will be available for selfie camera in the phone. Also, it has been informed that the company can launch this series in December.

According to the leaks revealed recently, the Redmi K40 Pro will be launched under the Redmi K40 series, which will be half-powered on the Snapdragon 875 processor. At the same time, another report said that this series will be introduced on the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset and will feature 5G connectivity.

Notably, Redmi general manager Lu Weibing had revealed about the Redmi K40 series that this series will be launched in the market soon. At the same time, there is also a discussion that the sale of Redmi K30 Pro will be stopped as soon as the Redmi K40 series comes on the market. However, nothing can be said clearly about this yet. But it is expected that the company can soon make an official announcement regarding the Redmi K40 series.

Apart from this, the new report also reveals that the phones are expected to bring with themselves a new MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC with support for 5G connectivity. For cameras, the phone is said to feature the Sony IMX686 64-megapixel primary sensor as its primary camera and bring support for 33W fast charging technology. However, there are also suggestions that the device could also be launched with a Snapdragon 775G SoC.

This also makes sense because in the past we’ve heard rumors about the Redmi K40 Pro being launched with a Qualcomm chip, albeit the more powerQualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 875 flagship chipset. This will be a 5nm chipset and is expected to be launched early next month.

As per the reports, the Redmi K40 is expected to go on sale by the end of this year while the Pro variant will be available for purchase sometime in the first quarter of next year. The launch timeline for both the devices is similar to its predecessor. Talking about the K40 Pro, report says the K40 Pro will feature a full-screen display, support for fast charging, and a large camera sensor. However, there is nothing known about the kind of display or the camera resolution of the lenses.

The two phones, for now, are expected to be launched in China only, with India release still appearing to be a few months away. This is because Redmi at the moment is focusing on introducing budget segment devices in India, with the company recently announcing new Redmi 9 series devices in the country.
