Xiaomi has launched another cheap 5G smartphone. This is the new Racing Edition or Speed Edition of the Redmi K30 5G, launched last year by the company.
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched another budget 5G smartphone. This is the cheapest smartphone in the company so far. The special feature of this smartphone is that Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 768G SoC has been used in it. Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition ( Speed Edition ) has been launched by the company with the main variant like the design. The new variants also get quad rear camera set-up and dual punch-hole selfie camera set-up. This new variant of the Redmi K30 5G, launched last year, is specially designed for Gen-Z users who use phones for gaming, photos, videos, and entertainment.
The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition will be made available for sale from 14 May on JD.com (e-commerce website) in China. The phone comes in the same storage options 6GB RAM + 128GB. It is priced at CNY 1,999 (about Rs 21,300). This smartphone will be available in four color options Deep Sea Shimmer, Mint Ice Blue, Purple Z Factory, and Time Monologues. This smartphone can be launched with a new name in the global market. However, the company has not shared any official information for this at the moment.
Talking about the features of Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition, it comes with a 6.67-inch FHD + display. It uses a 120Hz refresh rate screen, which has an aspect ratio of 20: 9. The phone comes with the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G SoC, using Adreno 620GPU for graphics. It has a 5G network as well as USB Type C port, Bluetooth, NFC for connectivity. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.
A 5,000mAh battery has been given to power the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition. The phone runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10. Talking about its camera features, a centrally placed quad rear camera is given in its back, which is placed vertically. The phone has a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 5MP telephoto or depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. The phone has a dual punch-hole camera set-up for a selfie. It has a 20MP primary and 2MP secondary sensor.
For optics, the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition has four cameras on the back and two on the front. The primary camera on the back is a 64-megapixel sensor with a 1/1.7 lens, the secondary is an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 lens, and the tertiary is a 5-megapixel sensor with a macro f/2.4 lens. The fourth camera is expected to be a 2-megapixel depth sensor since the camera setup is the same as the Redmi K30 5G.
The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition comes with 128GB of onboard storage. For connectivity, it has 5G, Wi-Fi, 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. There is also a side mounted fingerprint scanner. The Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. The phone measures 165.3×76.6×8.79mm and weighs 208 grams.
