The Redmi 8A will be launched in an event which is to be held on September 25. The phone will first debut in India

It seems like last week when the Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi launched its Redmi 7A, budget segment phone. But, now it seems that Xiaomi also wants to take a part of the pie in the festive season which is just around the corner in India. What better way for Xiaomi to do it than to launch another budget segment phone.

Well, Xiaomi seems to be doing just that with the launch of the Redmi 8A. It is also worth noting that Xiaomi will be launching the Redmi 8A in India first. Also, before the launch of the device, the company has revealed a lot about the phone. We now know a lot about the design, specifications and other things about the Redmi 8A and we are not going to keep it all to ourselves. Here is what we know about the Redmi 8A till now.Redmi 8A

Redmi 8A: New Design with Waterdrop Notch

The biggest change that the buyers of the Redmi 8A will notice is that the design of the phone has been given a big revamp. As compared to the previous generation devices and even the Redmi 7A, the Redmi 8A will sport a different design. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the device will debut with an Aura Wave Grip design, this means that the phone will lend a good grip to the phone making it unlikely to slip from the hands of the users. Xiaomi’s budget phones have always been known to pack massive battery, and the Redmi 8A would not be any different. The Redmi 8A will pack a massive 5,000mAh battery.

Another major design upgrade on the Redmi 8A will be on the front in the form of a waterdrop notch. Until now, the Redmi A series phones used to sport thick bezels which gave them a dated look, but the Redmi 8A will change this definition and will come with a more trendy waterdrop notch. The Redmi 8A will also ditch the micro USB port in favor of the USB Type-C, and this would be another first for the Redmi A series as no other phone in the series has debuted with a USB Type-C port. Redmi 8A: Processor and Pricing Not Known Yet

While we can be sure to see some significant changes in the Redmi 8A as compared to the previous generation phones, there is still that Xiaomi has kept hidden away for the launch day. The display will likely be a pleasant change for the fans of the brand as Redmi 8A will sport a larger display, upping the baseline of the Redmi A series. There is also no news about whether the Redmi 8A will sport a Qualcomm SoC or a MediaTek SoC.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8A will be launched on September 25, and it will be priced similarly to the Redmi 7A. Notably, the Redmi 7A retails in two variants priced around the Rs 6,000 mark, and we expect the Redmi 8A to follow on the same footprints. It is also likely that a few days later, the Redmi 7A could see a price cut.
