    PUBG Ends India Franchise With China’s Tencent, Might Soon Return to Indian Market

    PUBG Corporation said in its statement that the company will take over all the responsibility of publishing the PUBG Mobile game in India.

    The PUBG Mobile game has been banned in India. After the PUBG Mobile game was banned in India, the PUBG Corporation, the main South Korea company of PUBG Game, has become active. PUBG Corporation has announced the separation from the Chinese company Tencent Games on Tuesday. In such a situation, Tencent will no longer be authorized for the mobile version of PlayerUnknow, s Battlegrounds (PUBG) in India. Simply put, Chinese company Tencent will not have the legal right to operate PUBG Mobile in India. PUBG Corporation, the main South Korean company of PUBG, will be the publisher company of PUBG Mobile in India.

    Here’s what PUBG Corp said in its statement:

    “PUBG Corporation fully understands and respects the measures taken by the government as the privacy and security of player data is a top priority for the company. It hopes to work hand-in-hand with the Indian government to find a solution that will allow gamers to once again drop into the battlegrounds while being fully compliant with Indian laws and regulations.

    In light of recent developments, PUBG Corporation has made the decision to no longer authorize the PUBG Mobile franchise to Tencent Games in India. Moving forward, PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country. As the company explores ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India in the near future, it is committed to doing so by sustaining a localized and healthy gameplay environment for its fans.

    PUBG Mobile is the mobile version of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), an intellectual property owned and developed by PUBG Corporation, a South Korean gaming company. The company is actively engaged in developing and publishing PUBG on multiple platforms, including PUBG Mobile in select territories, to provide the best player experiences possible.”

    PUBG Mobile Game is the mobile version game of PUBG. It is made by the South Korean company PUBG Corporation. Also, PUBG’s Intellectual Property Rights are also with PUBG Corporation. The South Korean company has developed and published the PUBG game. But after PUBG became popular, the South Korean company joined hands with the Chinese company Tencent, so that PUBG could be quickly transported to the rest of the world.

    In such a situation, the Tencent company got the responsibility of spreading PUBG mobile in India. The entire business of PUBG is mainly owned by PUBG Corporation. In India, PUBG Corporation publishes the tablet and computer versions of PUBG as the main company. In such a situation, the Government of India has not banned the computer and tablet version of PUBG. PUBG Mobile has been banned by the government, whose franchise is with the Chinese company Tencent Holding.

    Having said that, the government is yet to provide clarity on whether the latest move by the company would bring any relief to the existing gamers, streamers, and organisations relying on PUBG Mobile in the country.
