Google has not described the release as Android 17 QPR1. Instead, the available information points to a maintenance update focused on security, performance and stability.
The timing is notable because Google is expected to release Android 17 QPR1 and another Pixel feature update later in September. The early Pixel 11 release therefore appears to be a separate update rather than the major quarterly platform release.
Pixel 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Fold Get the Update
The September software release applies across the current Pixel 11 family, including the standard Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Google’s rollout information labels the software as the September 2026 update.
Verizon has separately listed a September 9 software update for the Pixel 11 with software version CD1A.260905.001.B1. The carrier describes the update as providing performance improvements and the latest Android security patches.
This means availability can vary depending on the device model, carrier and region. Pixel owners who have not received the update immediately may need to wait for the staged rollout to reach their devices.
What Is New in the Pixel 11 Update?
The Pixel 11 September update does not appear to introduce a major new user-facing feature. Instead, its primary purpose is to deliver the September security patch together with performance and stability improvements.
