This has been an important year for OnePlus in India. The Chinese manufacturer launched the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro, two different variants of the phone for the first time and the second half of the year has been even more special as the company launched the OnePlus TV in India first, only a few days back. The OnePlus TV was launched alongside the next in line phone from the company, which is the OnePlus 7T. Now both, the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus TV are available for purchase online on Amazon. However, this new piece of information is not about the pricing or the sale of OnePlus TV, but it is about something that OnePlus specialises in, and that is quick updates. Only a few days after the launch of the TV, OnePlus has already rolled out a new update which brings fixes to a bunch of issues on the TV. Here is what you need to know about this update.
OnePlus TV New Update Details
Just a week after its launch, the OnePlus TV has received a new major update which brings performance improvements and bug fixes. The update package comes in a size of 813MB, and it fixes the issue of overexposed HDR content on OTT applications and some connectivity issues with OnePlus Connect. Not only this, but the music casting via DLNA has also been optimised. It is worth noting that the OnePlus Tv debuts in the premium segment and is all set to compete with the likes of LG, Samsung and Sony who have a stronghold in the premium TV segment in India. The OnePlus TV Q1 Pro comes with an 8-driver speaker setup and also supports Bluetooth Stereo mode using which you can put your TV to use just like a Bluetooth speaker.
Improvements in Bluetooth Connectivity
Now, with the new update, this feature has been improved. After the users update their OnePlus TV, they will find that the Bluetooth Stereo mode opens up directly whenever you connect the TV via Bluetooth. Also, the horizontal lights match up and act as a music visualiser when the sound is playing. The remote control of the TV also has haptic feedback, and this means that the users would be able to hear clicking sound effects when their smartphone is in ringer mode or vibrations. In case you are a OnePlus TV user, then you can navigate to the Settings menu and then go to the System update section to access and install the new update.
OnePlus TV’s Design Brilliance
The OnePlus TV’s bet in the market is not only about the features and the rich display that it offers, but also the TV comes with a design which has been getting a lot of appraising. The TV comes with a panel which hangs from a stand, and the rear panel of the TV has no bumps or any visible mess, there is also no mess of wires seen behind the OnePlus TV. On the front, the TV has very minimal bezels. The OnePlus TV remote also comes with a very minimal design, and it is clad in aluminium, thus extending the premium feel of the TV to the remote as well.
Inside the panel of the OnePlus TV, it packs the MediaTek MT6750 chipset and the TV also supports Google Assistant, Chromecast and Google Play app store. There will be applications like Amazon Prime Video, VOOT, Eros Now, etc. through which users will be able to enjoy OTT content. OnePlus has also said that Netflix would be made available later in the year. Connectivity options of the OnePlus TVs include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, and USB. OnePlus TV also comes with the promise of updates for the next three years.
