MIUI 11 is expected to bring a major design refresh and it will be based on Android 10
Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will be launching two high-end smartphones and the much-awaited MIUI 11 on September 24 in China. The company has posted this news on Twitter, stating it’s time to step up the 5G game. Earlier, it was rumored that the Chinese company would launch the Mi MIX 4 on September 24, however, it seems like the Mi MIX 4 will now be called Mi MIX 5G.
Alongside the Mi MIX 5G, Xiaomi will also be bringing a new Mi 9 series phone called the Mi 9 Pro and it might come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset that was launched a few weeks ago. The Redmi K20 Pro was launched as Mi 9T Pro in other markets and we don’t have any info regarding the Mi 9 Pro smartphone though. Also, MIUI 11 will be launching on September 24 and the Mi 9 Pro & Mi MIX 5G could be the first phones to ship with it.
Mi 9 Pro and Mi MIX 5G: What to Expect?
The Mi MIX 4 has been subjected to various leaks during the last few weeks. It’s unknown whether the Mi MIX 4 is the Mi MIX 5G smartphone that Xiaomi has teased today, but the company has confirmed some details regarding the Mi MIX 4. Going by the leaks, the Mi MIX 4 will feature a new screen called Waterfall Screen and it will have a 90Hz refresh rate. Also, the Mi MIX 4 is expected to come with a 108MP primary rear camera sensor- a first on any smartphone launched to date.
Xiaomi is said to be closely working with Samsung in developing an ISOCELL sensor exclusively for the Mi MIX 4. Other camera sensors on the smartphone may include 16MP wide-angle lens and 12MP telephoto lens with 5X optical zoom.
The Mi MIX 4 will likely launch in multiple variants- one with 5G support and 12GB of RAM. So we may see the brand launching a standard Mi MIX 4 with up to 8GB of RAM, whereas the Mi MIX 5G variant will likely offer a whopping 12GB of RAM and reverse wireless charging. It’s also rumored that the Mi MIX 4 will launch with two processors- Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 855+.
As mentioned above, Mi MIX 4 could be the first smartphone to come with MIUI 11 based on Android 10. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 may also feature 40W wireless charging technology- again a first on any smartphone. Right now we don’t have any information regarding the Mi 9 Pro, but being a Mi 9 series phone, it will pack high-end hardware.
