Reliance Jio has announced a new Rs 10,000 prepaid recharge plan that offers 36 months of service validity, unlimited voice calling and unlimited 5G data. The new three-year connectivity plan is designed for customers who prefer making a single large recharge instead of renewing their mobile connection every few months or every year.

The plan offers 2.5GB of high-speed data per day, 100 SMS per day and a range of additional digital benefits, including JioHotstar Mobile + Hollywood, Canva Pro Lite and JioAICloud storage.

Jio will make the Rs 10,000 plan available across India from November 7, 2026. Customers will be able to recharge through the MyJio app, Jio.com, Jio Stores, retail outlets and other authorised Jio recharge channels.

Jio Rs 10,000 Plan: Benefits and Validity

The biggest attraction of the new Jio recharge is its 36-month service validity. Instead of paying for an annual plan every year, customers can pay Rs 10,000 once and keep their prepaid connection active for three years under the plan’s terms.

    Here are the key benefits:

The plan offers 2.5GB of regular high-speed data every day, along with unlimited 5G for eligible customers. The unlimited 5G benefit requires a compatible 5G smartphone and Jio True 5G network availability. Customers should not confuse unlimited 5G with unlimited 4G data, as the daily data allowance continues to apply to regular usage.

Jio Bundles JioHotstar, Canva Pro Lite and 50GB Cloud Storage

Apart from connectivity, Jio has included several digital services with the three-year recharge.

The plan comes with JioHotstar Mobile + Hollywood access, giving subscribers access to the platform’s entertainment catalogue. It also includes Canva Pro Lite for 12 months, which provides access to additional design tools and templates.

Another benefit is 50GB of complimentary storage on JioAICloud. Subscribers can use the storage to keep files, photographs and other digital content.

There is an important distinction between these benefits and the plan’s service validity. While mobile connectivity is valid for 36 months, Canva Pro Lite is specified for 12 months. Jio has not specified the duration of the JioHotstar subscription in the benefit details available for this plan. Customers should check the applicable terms before recharging.

Jio Rs 10,000 Plan: What Is the Monthly Cost?

At first glance, Rs 10,000 is a substantial amount to spend on a prepaid mobile recharge. However, when spread across the full 36-month validity, the effective cost works out to approximately Rs 278 per month.

The annual equivalent is around Rs 3,333.

For comparison, Jio currently lists a Rs 3,599 annual prepaid plan with 2.5GB of daily data and unlimited 5G. Buying that annual plan three times would cost Rs 10,797 over three years, assuming its price and availability remain unchanged.

    ComparisonCost
    New Jio three-year planRs 10,000
Three Rs 3,599 annual rechargesRs 10,797
    DifferenceRs 797
Effective monthly cost of three-year planAround Rs 278

On this simple price comparison, the new plan costs Rs 797 less than three consecutive annual recharges at the current listed price.

However, this is not a complete like-for-like comparison of all bundled benefits. Annual plans may include different promotional subscriptions or additional offers, and their prices could change over the next three years. The new plan’s main advantage is that its stated price and connectivity benefits are locked in for the full validity period.

Does the Jio Three-Year Plan Protect Customers from Tariff Hikes?

One of the most interesting aspects of the Rs 10,000 recharge is the price certainty it offers.

Telecom operators periodically revise prepaid tariffs, and customers usually have to pay the prevailing recharge price when renewing their plans. A three-year recharge allows Jio users to secure the stated connectivity benefits for the entire validity period without having to worry about annual recharge price changes during that time.

For example, if Jio increases the price of its annual prepaid plans in the coming years, customers who have already activated the three-year plan will not need to purchase those annual plans during its validity.

This makes the offer particularly relevant for customers who want predictable mobile expenses and intend to remain with Jio for the long term.

However, the benefit comes with a trade-off. Customers are committing Rs 10,000 upfront and effectively locking themselves into Jio for three years. If they later want to switch operators, they may not be able to recover the unused value of the recharge under the applicable terms.

Who Should Consider the Jio Rs 10,000 Recharge?

The new plan is not necessarily suitable for every Jio subscriber. Its high upfront cost means that it is aimed at customers who have enough disposable income to pay for three years of mobile connectivity at once.

It could make sense for people who:

    • Prefer making one recharge instead of managing annual renewals.
    • Already use Jio as their primary mobile connection.
    • Regularly consume 2.5GB or more of daily mobile data.
    • Have a compatible 5G smartphone and access to Jio’s 5G network.
    • Want greater certainty against future prepaid tariff increases.

On the other hand, customers who prefer lower upfront spending, frequently change mobile operators or do not use much mobile data may be better served by monthly, quarterly or annual recharge options.

Jio’s Rs 10,000 Plan Is a Different Approach to Prepaid Recharges

With this launch, Jio is taking prepaid connectivity beyond the usual monthly, quarterly and annual recharge cycle. A 36-month plan gives customers a way to secure long-term service through one payment while also receiving digital benefits.

The offer could appeal to a segment of subscribers who value convenience and price certainty more than the flexibility of shorter recharges. But the Rs 10,000 upfront payment will remain a significant barrier for many prepaid users.

The plan’s actual appeal will depend on how customers value the three-year commitment, the included digital subscriptions and the protection against future tariff changes.
