JioGames has brought Cricket 26 – The Official Game of the Ashes to its cloud gaming platform in India, giving gamers another way to play the premium cricket title without buying dedicated gaming hardware. The game is available through the JioGames Pro Pass, with plans starting at Rs 48 and Jio customers eligible for additional discounts.
Cricket 26 now available on JioGames
Cricket 26 is now part of the JioGames library, allowing Indian gamers to stream the title through the company’s cloud gaming service. Instead of purchasing the game separately and relying on a PlayStation or gaming PC, users can access it through a JioGames Pro Pass subscription.
The game is officially titled Cricket 26 – The Official Game of the Ashes and is developed by Big Ant Studios and published by Nacon. JioGames is positioning its cloud platform as a way to bring premium titles to more devices without requiring users to invest in high-end gaming hardware.
JioGames Pro Pass price in India
JioGames offers the Pro Pass to users across mobile and broadband operators, so having a Jio SIM or Jio broadband connection is not mandatory. The currently listed Pro Pass costs Rs 398 for 28 days, while shorter-duration options are also available. Recent reports list the shorter plans at Rs 48 and Rs 98.
Jio customers get an additional Rs 100 discount on eligible Pro Pass plans. This brings the reported effective price of the full Pro Pass to Rs 298 for eligible Jio users.
The platform also offers a one-year Pro Pass bundled with a gaming controller for Rs 2,999, according to the current JioGames website.
Cricket 26 can be played without a gaming console
The main attraction for Indian users is the cloud gaming model. JioGames streams the game from its cloud infrastructure, allowing players to access it across supported devices instead of installing the complete game locally.
JioGames supports gaming across desktops and laptops, Android and iOS devices, Jio set-top boxes and Android TVs. This means a user can potentially play Cricket 26 on a compatible screen without owning a PlayStation or a high-end gaming PC.
The experience will still depend on factors such as internet connection quality, latency, device compatibility and the controller or input method being used.
What Cricket 26 offers
Cricket 26 brings several game modes and features beyond standard cricket matches. The JioGames version includes an all-new Management Career mode, where players can scout and develop players, build squads and make strategic decisions throughout a career.
The game also includes an expanded Ashes mode featuring England and Australia, along with Pro Team, where players can build collections and use an Auction House. An Academy creation suite lets players create and share stadiums, players, bats and teams.
JioGames also highlights enhanced gameplay mechanics designed to provide more control over batting, bowling and match strategy. However, the current JioGames build notes that some multiplayer features are not yet live and are expected through future updates.
Cricket 26 supports multiple screens
Players can access Cricket 26 through the JioGames app and browser-based cloud gaming service. Supported options include desktop and laptop browsers, Android phones, iPhones, Jio set-top boxes and Android TV devices.
This multi-device approach is significant for JioGames because it expands the potential audience beyond traditional console and PC gamers. Someone with a compatible smartphone, television or basic computer can use cloud streaming instead of buying dedicated gaming hardware.
What this means for Indian gamers
Cricket games have a natural audience in India, but premium console and PC titles can involve a substantial upfront cost when the game and required hardware are considered together. JioGames is taking a different approach by putting Cricket 26 inside a subscription-based cloud gaming catalogue.
The model does not make Cricket 26 free. Users still need an eligible JioGames subscription, and the quality of the experience will depend on their internet connection and supported device. However, the subscription model lowers the initial barrier for players who want to try the game without buying a console or a dedicated gaming PC.
For Jio, adding a recognisable cricket title such as Cricket 26 also strengthens its push into cloud gaming and digital entertainment. The company is building JioGames around premium games that can be played across phones, TVs and PCs, rather than limiting the service to traditional mobile gaming.
