To recall, BSNL introduced the extra data offer back in June this year as Bumper Offer, providing up to 2.2GB daily data on top of the existing plan’s data benefit

Government-owned telecom service provider BSNL has extended its extra data offer, but the company has made changes to the overall scheme. Under the new scheme, BSNL will be providing extra daily data of up to 1.5GB on just six prepaid plans and the data benefit will differ with months. The six prepaid plans which will be part of the company’s extra daily data offer are Rs 349, Rs 399, Rs 447, Rs 485, Rs 666 and the yearly plan of Rs 1,699.

Earlier, the company even used to provide extra data on prepaid plans priced below Rs 300 as well, but that has changed this time around. Talking about the data benefit, all these plans will ship with extra 1.5GB daily data in October and just 1GB data per day in November and December. Read onto know more about the extra data offer from BSNL for the months of October, November and December.

BSNL Extra Daily Data Offer is Now Valid on Just 6 Prepaid Plans

To recall, BSNL introduced the extra data offer back in June this year as Bumper Offer, providing up to 2.2GB daily data on top of the existing plan’s data benefit. However, later on, the data benefit was reduced to 2GB data per day, and now, it has been reduced even further to 1.5GB data per day. As noted, the six prepaid plans which fall under the extra data offer from BSNL are 349, Rs 399, Rs 447, Rs 485, Rs 666 and Rs 1,699.

In October 2019, the above-mentioned plans will offer extra 1.5GB daily data on top of the prepaid plan’s existing data benefit. For example, the yearly Rs 1,699 prepaid plan from BSNL usually offers 2GB data per day, but as part of this offer, it will provide a user 3.5GB data per day for a period of 365 days. As part of this offer in October, the 349, Rs 399, Rs 447, Rs 485 and Rs 666 plans ship with 2.5GB, 2.5GB, 2.5GB, 3GB and 3GB data per day, respectively.

And in November and December months, the extra data benefit will be reduced to 1GB per day, meaning the Rs 1,699 prepaid plan comes with 3GB data per day for the entire year validity. The Rs 349, Rs 399 and Rs 447 plans ship with 2GB data per day, whereas the Rs 485 and Rs 666 prepaid plans come with 2.5GB data per day. Overall, it’s still a good offer from BSNL, especially for those who’re looking to recharge the Rs 1,699 that now offers 3.5GB data per day for a period of 365 days.

Earlier, the Rs 1,699 prepaid plan from BSNL offered 4.2GB data per day for the duration of the pack. This offer will be effective from October 2, 2019, across the country. BSNL is already struggling to retain its operations in the industry, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out for the company.

Reason Behind Omission of Rs 186 and Rs 187 Plans from Extra Data Offer

Just a couple of days ago, we reported the revision of BSNL’s monthly combo prepaid plans of Rs 186 and Rs 187. Both the plans now ship with 3GB data per day for 28 days, which is the reason why they are no more part of the extra data offer from the company. Earlier, BSNL’s Rs 186 and Rs 187 prepaid plans also offered extra daily data alongside other plans mentioned above. However, with the daily data of Rs 186 plan already at 3GB, the company has no option rather than removing the plan entirely.

Also, the Rs 1,699, Rs 485 and Rs 666 prepaid plans from BSNL now cap the voice calls to 250 minutes per day. Under Rs 200, the Rs 186 PV also limits the voice calls to just 250 minutes per day. This is the new strategy from BSNL to tackle the ongoing financial crisis temporarily.
