boAt has launched the Airdopes Prime 800D true wireless earbuds in India with its Crest AI platform, built using Google Gemini. The earbuds combine AI-powered features with Dolby Audio, 11mm drivers, Bluetooth 6.1 and up to 45 hours of claimed playback.
boAt Airdopes Prime 800D price in India
The boAt Airdopes Prime 800D is priced at Rs 1,999 in India, while the product carries an MRP of Rs 4,599. It is available through boAt’s website and major online retail platforms in Raven Black, Royal Blue and Swedish Blue.
boAt is positioning the Prime 800D as one of its new “Intelligent Ears” products, bringing conversational AI and voice-controlled functions directly to compatible audio devices. The company has also brought Crest AI to the Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and Nirvana Ion ANC.
Google Gemini-based Crest AI comes to earbuds
The main highlight of the Airdopes Prime 800D is boAt Crest AI, which is built with Google Gemini. The platform is designed to provide hands-free access to AI conversations, productivity functions and translation through the earbuds.
Crest AI includes an Ask Crest feature for generative AI conversations, while G-Assist can connect with Gmail, Google Tasks and Calendar. This allows users to perform functions such as checking information, summarising emails and managing tasks through voice interactions rather than relying entirely on the phone screen.
The platform also includes Crest Translate, which supports two-way real-time translation across more than 25 languages. However, Crest AI currently has a significant compatibility limitation: boAt’s support documentation says the feature works with Android 12 and newer devices and is not currently available on iOS.
11mm drivers and Dolby Audio
Beyond the AI features, the Airdopes Prime 800D comes with 11mm dynamic drivers and supports Dolby Audio. boAt also lists a HiFi DSP Core, 24-bit Spatial Audio, Adaptive EQ and its Signature Sound technology among the audio features.
The earbuds use four AI-ENx microphones with AI-based noise reduction for calls. Adaptive EQ is designed to personalise audio output according to the user’s hearing profile, while the boAt Hearables app allows users to customise controls, adjust audio settings and install firmware updates.
Bluetooth 6.1 and 45ms gaming mode
The Airdopes Prime 800D supports Bluetooth 6.1 and Multipoint Connectivity, allowing the earbuds to remain connected to two compatible devices. Google Fast Pair and in-ear detection are also supported.
For gaming, boAt has included its BEAST Mode with 45ms low latency. The earbuds are also rated IPX5 for water resistance, making them suitable for workouts and everyday use.
Up to 45 hours of battery life
The Airdopes Prime 800D is claimed to deliver up to 45 hours of total playback at 60 percent volume with the charging case. The case has a 500mAh battery, while each earbud carries a 50mAh battery.
The earbuds take around 30 minutes to charge, while the charging case takes about 1.5 hours. boAt’s ASAP Charge feature is claimed to provide up to four hours of playback from a 10-minute charge.
Crest AI availability comes with an important caveat
The Airdopes Prime 800D’s AI capabilities are a significant part of its positioning, but buyers should note that Crest AI is not simply a universal feature that works with every smartphone. boAt currently requires an Android 12 or newer phone, the boAt Hearables app and the appropriate firmware for Crest AI. The company also says users may need to activate the feature using the product serial number, with a separate Crest AI Pack listed on its website.
For users who already use Android phones, the combination of Gemini-based AI assistance, translation and voice-controlled productivity could make the Prime 800D notably different from conventional TWS earbuds in the same price segment. For iPhone users, however, the current lack of Crest AI support is an important limitation.
With the Airdopes Prime 800D, boAt is moving beyond audio and calling features towards AI-assisted personal devices. The Rs 1,999 price, 45-hour claimed battery life, Dolby Audio and Gemini-based Crest AI put the earbuds squarely into India’s competitive sub-Rs 2,000 TWS segment.
