KRAFTON India has rolled out the BGMI 4.6 update, bringing a new supernatural-themed mode, the return of Ocean Odyssey, an India-focused original character and several major collaborations to Battlegrounds Mobile India.
The update is now available from September 16, with content scheduled to arrive progressively through November. The biggest new addition is Midnight Hunters, a Vampire-themed experience on Erangel that changes what happens to players after they are eliminated.
BGMI 4.6 Introduces Midnight Hunters Vampire Mode
The headline feature of BGMI 4.6 is Midnight Hunters, a new supernatural theme mode running on Erangel from September 16 to November 16.
Several locations across the map receive Vampire-themed changes. Rozhok, Mylta, Quarry and Gatka become Vampire Takeover areas, while Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base feature the Nightkeeper’s Hunter Guild with indoor combat areas and hidden challenges.
The most notable gameplay change is the Bloodline Awakening mechanic. Players who are eliminated can return to the battlefield as Vampires, creating an additional layer of combat even after an opponent has been knocked out.
Vampire players get special abilities including Claw Strike, Absorb, Blood Sense and Blood Amberfication. The mode can have up to 20 active Vampires at a time, turning previously completed eliminations into potential new threats.
The update also introduces new items and enemies connected to the Vampire theme, including the Silvermoon Chain, Twilight Bat Wings, Scarlet Tonic and Blood Pact.
Players can additionally complete Guild Missions and encounter enemies such as Bloodwalkers, Nightbats, the Vampire Elder and the Nightkeeper.
Ocean Odyssey Returns to BGMI
BGMI 4.6 also brings back Ocean Odyssey, a mode that previously featured underwater exploration and special combat mechanics.
The Ocean Odyssey experience returns to Erangel on September 30. Players can revisit locations and gameplay elements including the Ocean Palace, Trident, Kraken and underwater exploration.
Ocean Odyssey and Midnight Hunters will overlap for part of the season, giving players access to two different themed experiences on Erangel before the scheduled end of the seasonal content on November 16.
Kiaraa Is BGMI’s India-First Original Character
Another major addition is Kiaraa, an original character created by KRAFTON India’s in-house team specifically for the Indian BGMI audience.
However, Kiaraa is not arriving with the initial September 16 rollout. The character is scheduled to debut on October 8.
Her storyline is linked to a Diwali-themed Indian Bazaar on Erangel. Players can activate four peacock-shaped lamps to awaken Kiaraa and enter a dedicated Boss Fight Zone.
Kiaraa also comes with the Nakshatra Collection, featuring items such as the Divine Peacock Glider, Divine Radiance SCAR-L, Divine Chariot Buggy, Arrow Rain Emote and Divine Edge Machete.
A 20-level Diwali Prize Path is scheduled to arrive on October 22, with additional rewards including the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, Royal Enfield Bullet 350 and other themed items.
BGMI 4.6 Gets One Punch Man Collaboration
The 4.6 season also brings a collaboration with the popular Japanese manga and anime franchise One Punch Man.
The One Punch Man content is scheduled to go live on September 21, rather than on the first day of the 4.6 update.
The collaboration forms part of a broader BGMI 4.6 content schedule that combines international franchises with India-focused events.
KRAFTON India is also collaborating with Lincoln Motor Cruize and B.DUCK during the season, while a Techno Gamerz collaboration is scheduled for October 20.
World of Wonder Gets New Content
BGMI 4.6 also expands World of Wonder, the game’s creator-focused platform.
The update adds new Halloween-themed gameplay elements, more collectible Brainrot characters and improvements to the Mobile Editor. KRAFTON India says more than 50,000 World of Wonder maps have been created, with more than 35,000 currently playable.
The changes give creators additional tools to build custom experiences beyond the standard battle royale modes.
BGMI 4.6 Content Schedule
The 4.6 update is being rolled out as a continuing season rather than a single-day content release. Several of its biggest features arrive on different dates.
The current schedule includes:
- September 16: Midnight Hunters begins on Erangel.
- September 21: One Punch Man collaboration begins.
- September 30: Ocean Odyssey returns.
- October 8: Kiaraa makes her debut.
- October 20: Techno Gamerz collaboration begins.
- October 22: Diwali Prize Path begins.
- November 16: Midnight Hunters and Ocean Odyssey are scheduled to end.
This staggered approach gives the BGMI 4.6 season a longer stream of new content instead of putting every feature into the game on launch day.
How to Get BGMI 4.6 Update
BGMI players can update the game through their device’s app store. Once version 4.6 becomes available for the player’s device, the update can be downloaded and installed before accessing the new seasonal content.
KRAFTON India’s official BGMI patch notes confirm that the 4.6 update arrives on September 16, 2026, with the new Vampire-hunting theme mode on Erangel.
Players should also note that some 4.6 features are time-gated. Installing the update on September 16 does not immediately unlock Kiaraa or the One Punch Man collaboration, as those experiences arrive later according to the announced schedule.
With Midnight Hunters, Ocean Odyssey, Kiaraa, One Punch Man and several India-focused events, BGMI 4.6 is structured around a rolling schedule of gameplay changes and collaborations extending through the next two months.
