Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip is available to pre-order in India, with prices starting at Rs 2,39,900. Announced on October 27, the laptop brings a new 2nm-based processor, improved graphics and on-device AI performance, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and claimed battery life of up to 24 hours. Deliveries and retail availability for the M6 model begin on November 6, 2026.

Apple has also introduced higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered by the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. These more expensive versions feature a new tandem OLED display branded PROLED XDR and touchscreen support, separating them from the M6 model, which retains the Liquid Retina XDR display.

Apple’s India store is advertising up to 12 months of No Cost EMI and Rs 15,000 instant cashback on eligible cards. Here is a closer look at the prices, available configurations, launch offers and differences between the new MacBook Pro models.

Apple MacBook Pro M6 Price in India

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at Rs 2,39,900 in India. The education price starts at Rs 2,27,900 for eligible students and educators.

    ModelStarting price in IndiaEducation price
    MacBook Pro 14-inch with M6Rs 2,39,900Rs 2,27,900
MacBook Pro 14-inch with M5 Pro and OLEDRs 3,49,900Rs 3,31,900
MacBook Pro 16-inch with M5 Pro and OLEDRs 4,09,900Rs 3,85,900
MacBook Pro 14-inch with M5 Max and OLEDRs 5,49,900Rs 5,12,900
MacBook Pro 16-inch with M5 Max and OLEDRs 5,89,900Rs 5,52,900

These are starting prices, and higher memory and storage configurations cost more. The M6 model supports up to 32GB of unified memory and up to 4TB of storage in the listed configurations, while the M5 Pro and M5 Max models can be configured with up to 128GB of unified memory and up to 16TB of storage.

Apple MacBook Pro M6 Offers in India

Apple is promoting several purchase options for eligible customers buying the new MacBook Pro through its India store.

    • Instant cashback: Up to Rs 15,000 with eligible payment cards, subject to Apple’s applicable terms.
    • No Cost EMI: Up to 12 months on eligible purchases.
    • Education pricing: Eligible students and educators can access lower starting prices.
    • Apple Trade In: Customers can exchange an eligible old computer for credit towards a new Mac, with the value depending on the device and its condition.

The final discount and EMI eligibility can depend on the selected model, card issuer and purchase terms. Buyers should check the offer displayed at checkout before assuming the full cashback will apply to their chosen configuration.

Accessories are sold separately. Apple lists its 70W power adapter at Rs 5,800, 96W adapter at Rs 8,900 and 140W adapter at Rs 11,900.

MacBook Pro M6 Pre-Order and Sale Dates

Pre-orders for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 opened on October 28, 2026, through Apple’s online store and Apple Store app. The laptop is scheduled to become available from November 6 at Apple Store locations and authorised resellers.

The M5 Pro and M5 Max models with the new OLED display are also available to pre-order. Apple lists November 9 as their availability date in its launch announcement.

Customers planning to buy one should compare the final price of the M6 model against the higher-end OLED versions before placing an order, especially if a touchscreen display, additional memory or support for more external monitors is important to their work.

Apple M6 Chip: Performance and AI Improvements

The new 14-inch MacBook Pro features Apple’s M6 chip, built using a 2nm manufacturing process. It includes a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a dual 16-core Neural Engine.

Apple claims that the M6 delivers up to 30% faster graphics performance and up to 25% faster on-device AI workloads compared with the M5. The Neural Engine is also claimed to deliver up to 1.9 times faster performance for certain AI tasks.

The improvements are aimed at developers, creative professionals and users who work with demanding applications. Supported workloads include code compilation, graphics rendering, image processing and running compatible large language models locally.

Apple also claims substantial gains for people upgrading from older M1-based systems, including up to 11 times faster graphics performance and up to 13 times faster AI performance in selected comparisons. These are Apple’s benchmark claims; real-world results depend on the application, workload and configuration.

MacBook Pro M6 Display: Liquid Retina XDR, Not OLED

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 retains Apple’s Liquid Retina XDR display. It has a 14.2-inch panel with a resolution of 3,024 × 1,964 pixels, ProMotion refresh rates up to 120Hz and peak HDR brightness of up to 1,600 nits.

Apple offers an optional nano-texture finish designed to reduce reflections and glare for people working in bright environments.

The new tandem OLED display belongs to the separate MacBook Pro models powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max. Apple calls this panel PROLED XDR. It offers up to 2,000 nits of peak HDR and SDR brightness, a claimed 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

The OLED models also introduce touchscreen support on the MacBook Pro for the first time. Users can interact directly with supported applications, including by selecting objects, manipulating creative projects and navigating content with touch gestures.

This distinction is important for buyers: the Rs 2,39,900 starting price applies to the M6 model with a Liquid Retina XDR display, not the more expensive touchscreen OLED versions.

M6 vs M5 Pro vs M5 Max: Which MacBook Pro Should You Choose?

Apple is maintaining different performance tiers rather than introducing M6 Pro and M6 Max versions alongside the base M6 launch.

External displaysUp to 2Up to 3Up to 4
Best suited forGeneral professional work, development and creative applicationsIntensive development, engineering and creative workloadsAdvanced graphics, AI development and demanding production work

The M6 model is the entry point for buyers who want Apple’s latest base-series chip without paying for the more expensive professional configurations. It should be sufficient for many developers, students, business users and creators.

The M5 Pro is designed for more demanding professional workflows, including compiling large projects, editing multiple streams of high-resolution video and running intensive applications. The M5 Max targets users who need still more graphics and memory capacity, such as 3D artists, AI developers and high-end video production teams.

The higher-end models are not simply faster versions of the M6 laptop. They also bring the new OLED display, touchscreen interaction, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity and support for more external monitors.

MacBook Pro M6 Battery Life and Connectivity

Apple claims up to 24 hours of battery life for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6. The company says the model can deliver up to four additional hours compared with the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1, although actual battery life depends on how the device is used.

The laptop supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 through Apple’s N1 wireless chip. Its ports include three Thunderbolt 4 connections, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 and a headphone jack. It supports up to two external displays.

Other features include a 12MP Center Stage camera, a six-speaker audio system with Spatial Audio and fast charging. Apple says the battery can reach 50% in around 30 minutes when using a compatible higher-wattage USB-C power adapter.

The M5 Pro and M5 Max OLED models feature three Thunderbolt 5 ports and support up to three and four external displays, respectively.

Should You Buy the MacBook Pro M6 or Wait for an OLED Model?

For buyers who prioritise processing performance, battery life and AI capabilities, the M6 model offers a more accessible entry point into Apple’s professional laptop range. Its starting price is Rs 1.10 lakh below the 14-inch M5 Pro OLED model.

The OLED models are more appealing to professionals who need a touchscreen, a wider colour gamut, additional display brightness, more memory or support for multiple external monitors. However, the price difference is substantial, and not every buyer will benefit from these upgrades.

Owners of an M1 MacBook Pro may see a meaningful improvement in graphics performance, AI workloads and battery life. Users with a recent M5 MacBook Pro should evaluate their specific workloads before upgrading, as everyday productivity tasks may not justify the additional expense.

Buyers should also consider memory and storage carefully. For professional video editing, software development and local AI workloads, having enough unified memory can be more useful than paying for a processor upgrade that does not address the actual bottleneck.

Apple MacBook Pro M6: Should You Pre-Order?

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at Rs 2,39,900 and is scheduled to go on sale on November 6. Its key improvements include a 2nm-based chip, faster graphics, enhanced on-device AI performance, Wi-Fi 7 and claimed battery life of up to 24 hours.

Apple’s new M5 Pro and M5 Max OLED models provide another option for buyers who need a touchscreen display and more powerful hardware, but their prices start at Rs 3,49,900 and Rs 5,49,900, respectively.

With up to Rs 15,000 instant cashback on eligible cards and No Cost EMI options advertised by Apple, the effective purchase cost may be lower for qualifying buyers. Before pre-ordering, check the final offer terms, memory and storage configuration, and whether the additional features of the OLED models justify their higher price.
