Apple introduced trackpad support with iPadOS as well as the iPad Pro launched last week. It has now been commercially rolled out.
Apple has rolled out iOS, iPadOS 13.4. The special thing about this latest operating system is that users will get trackpad support in it. Apple has made major upgrades to its operating system launched the last year 2019. Now users will be able to connect a mouse or trackpad to their iPad. With this help, the crusher can be moved. The company introduced trackpad support with iPadOS as well as the iPad Pro launched last week. It has now been commercially rolled out. Not only this, but the company also launched Magic Keyboard last week with a built-in trackpad.
As the nomenclature suggests, this is a feature update. For the most part, the big features introduced today were already rumored or known to be planned. The big three are arguably full trackpad and pointer support for recent iPads, iCloud Drive folder sharing, and universal app purchases.
As is usual these days, iOS/iPadOS have the most changes listed in their release notes. In addition to the above, the changes include nine new Memoji stickers, a slight change to the Mail app UI to make it harder to accidentally delete emails when you intend to reply to them, improvements to the Apple Arcade experience, audio playback support in USDZ files for AR Quick Look, predictive typing support for the Arabic language, and a whole bunch of bug fixes.
This new update rolled out for the Apple iPad can be downloaded through the Over the Air patch across all operative devices. For this, users have to go to the settings of the device. To access this update, users have to go to the Settings option and go to the General. After this, users will get the option of software updates. Users will be able to download the latest update by tapping on this option. While downloading the latest update, keep in mind that the device is connected to Wi-Fi. With mobile network support, the update may take time to download.
In iOS and iPadOS 13.4, users will also get support for Magic Keyboard Accessory. Apart from trackpad support, users will also get the facility to share the iCloud Drive folder. This feature works like a dropbox. In addition, users will also get nine new Memoji stickers, including options such as smiling face, hands pressure, pretty face with shorts. Apple has also changed the archive or delete, move, reply and compose buttons with the new update.
iOS 13.4 is available for all iOS 13-compatible devices. This means the iPhone 6S and newer and the 7th generation iPod touch. You should receive an automatic update notification but if that hasn’t happened, you can trigger it manually by heading to Settings > General > Software Update. Beta testers, if you are running a later version of iOS when you read this (see the ‘The Road Ahead’ section below), remember to unroll your iPhones or iOS 13.4 will not show up.
iPad owners, Apple has moved you to a new dedicated platform: iPadOS, though I will make some comments on iPadOS 13.4 below.
WatchOS 6.2 adds support for in-app purchases in Watch apps (this follows the addition of an on-device App Store in a previous update), a music playback bug fix, and support for ECG and irregular heart rhythm notifications in three new countries: Chile, Turkey, and New Zealand. As usual, tvOS got a tiny update; in this case, it just adds family sharing of TV and movie purchases, and it tweaks the look of the TV app.
