Airtel has reported that its 5G network has now exceeded 10 million unique customers. The company has also shared its plans to expand its 5G services to cover all major towns and rural areas by March 2024, indicating a strategic approach to ensuring wider access to the next-generation technology.

Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications companies, has announced that it has successfully launched its 5G network in India. The company claims that it has already latched on to 10 million unique users onto its 5G network.

The launch of 5G services in India is a significant milestone for the telecommunications industry in the country. With this launch, Airtel has become the first telecom operator in India to offer commercial 5G services. The company had launched its 5G network in Hyderabad in January 2022, and since then, it has expanded its 5G services to several other cities across the country.

Airtel’s 5G network operates on a spectrum band of 1800 MHz, which provides superior coverage and speed compared to other spectrum bands. Airtel’s 5G network is currently available in select cities across the country, including Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore.

Speaking about the launch of 5G services, Gopal Vittal, the CEO of Airtel, said, “We are thrilled to launch our 5G services in India. We believe that 5G has the potential to revolutionize the way we live, work and connect with each other. With our 5G network, we aim to provide our customers with a world-class digital experience.”

Airtel has invested heavily in building its 5G infrastructure, which includes the deployment of advanced technologies such as Massive MIMO, Cloud Core, and OpenRAN. These technologies help to provide faster and more reliable connectivity to users.

The company has also partnered with several leading device manufacturers to offer customers a wide range of 5G-enabled devices. Customers can now purchase 5G-enabled smartphones, routers, and other devices from Airtel stores across the country.

Airtel’s 5G network is expected to have a significant impact on several industries, including healthcare, education, and entertainment. The high-speed connectivity provided by 5G will enable remote consultations between doctors and patients, virtual classrooms, and immersive gaming experiences.

Airtel’s 5G network is also expected to boost the digital economy in India. According to a report by the Boston Consulting Group, the deployment of 5G networks in India could create up to $1 trillion in economic value by 2035.

The launch of 5G services by Airtel has been welcomed by industry experts and customers alike. “The launch of 5G services by Airtel is a significant milestone for the telecom industry in India. This will accelerate the adoption of 5G technology in the country and drive innovation across several sectors,” said Rajan Mathews, Director-General of the Cellular Operators Association of India.

Customers who have already latched on to Airtel’s 5G network have reported a significant improvement in their digital experience. “I have been using Airtel’s 5G network for a few weeks now, and the speed and reliability of the network are excellent. I can now stream high-quality videos and play online games without any lag,” said Ravi Kumar, a customer from Bangalore.

Despite the positive response from customers, there are still some concerns regarding the deployment of 5G technology. Some experts have raised concerns about the potential health risks associated with 5G radiation. However, Airtel has assured its customers that its 5G network is safe and complies with all the safety standards set by the government.

In conclusion, the launch of Airtel’s 5G network in India is a significant development for the telecom industry in the country. With the deployment of advanced technologies and partnerships with leading device manufacturers, Airtel aims to provide its customers with a world-class digital experience.
