Apple’s new iPhone 11 is very similar to iPhone XR, but it does get upgrades in the camera, battery and hardware department

Apple held its big unveiling event last night and has introduced its latest lineup of products in which the fans had been waiting for this. This, of course, includes the launch of the Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Out of the three models, as you can probably make out from the name, the Apple iPhone 11 is the most affordable one, and it succeeds in the Apple iPhone XR. Being the newer device, it is natural that the phone comes with a handful of upgrades, but here we are being very literal, as the upgrades on the iPhone 11 are just “handful” and not as much as what a lot of people would expect. Here is how the iPhone 11 compares to the iPhone XR.Apple iPhone 11

    Design and Display

When it comes to displaying, the iPhone XR used to come with an IPS display with HD+ resolution which measures 6.1-inches. There is the familiar notch on top of the iPhone XR. On the front, the iPhone 11 also follows a similar design pattern and even the size of the bezels remain similar. It is on the back that we get to see some real differences between the two phones.

While the Apple iPhone XR comes with the single rear camera setup, the iPhone 11 gets an upgrade in this regard as it sports a dual rear camera setup over the square bump. The color options are also something that the buyers will like. The iPhone XR used to come in Blue, White, Yellow, Black, Coral, and Red options, the iPhone 11 will come in Purple, Green, Yellow, White, Black, and Red. The phones also feature Face ID and no fingerprint sensor.

    Performance and Battery

The Apple iPhone XR came with the A12 Bionic chip, which is considered great for all purposes be it gaming or day to day multitasking. The phone sports 3GB RAM. Compared to this, the Apple iPhone 11 is surely an upgrade as the device comes with an A13 bionic chip which is now paired with 4GB of RAM. Currently, Apple has claimed that the A13 is the fastest chipset on any smartphone out there.

The Apple iPhone XR stood out from the rest of its expensive siblings because of the battery life that is provided. The extended battery life on the phone was because of the low-resolution LCD. The phone lasted more than a day, and it also came with 15W fast charging. The battery unit on the iPhone XR is a 2942mAh one. The iPhone 11 has been claimed to offer even better battery life courtesy of a 3110mAh battery. The phone also gets 15W reverse fast charging as well, although the fast charger is not included in the box.

    Cameras

This is probably the most significant difference between the two phones out there. The iPhone XR comes with a single camera setup with a 12MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The phone also offers OIS, and the ability to record 4K at 60fps. The iPhone 11, on the other hand, features dual rear camera setup with two 12MP units, one of which is the primary sensor, and the other one being an ultra-wide sensor. There are new features accompanying the camera like portrait mode for animals, an ultra-wide mode, new Night mode.

Users will also be able to shoot videos using the ultra-wide sensor at 4K 60fps. The front camera on the iPhone 11 has also been upgraded from the 7MP to a 12MP unit.
