Xiaomi says 5,00,000 Mi TVs sold in just 24 days during the festive sale on Mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart and offline channels

Chinese company Xiaomi entered the Indian smart TV market last year. In just some months the company became the No 1 smart TV brand in the country. Xiaomi is selling a number of smart TV models in India right now. Recently the company launched three new smart Android TVs in the Mi TV 4X Pro lineup. The TVs are – Mi TV 4X Pro 43-inch, Mi TV 4X Pro 50-inch, and Mi TV 4X Pro 65-inch. These are all 4K TVs. With these TVs, the company aims to make 4K televisions accessible for the masses.

Xiaomi’s Mi TVs are extremely popular in India. This festive season, Xiaomi claims it sold over 5 lakh Mi TV units during the Diwali sales on Mi.com, Amazon, and Flipkart as well as offline retail channels. The company, which has led the smart TV segment for the past five quarters now, says it reached the sales figure of 5,00,000 units in 24 days. It also said Mi TVs were the most popular TVs (and not just smart TV) in the Amazon and Flipkart sales, which started in late September and are still continuing. To recall, after the first sale, Mi TV sales had crossed 2.5 lakh units.

Commenting on achievement Eshwar Nilakantan, Category Lead – Mi TV, Xiaomi India, mentioned,

Our smart TV business was born in 2018 and it has flourished well in India. In a short span of time of three months since inception, we became the #1 smart TV brand in India and have continued our streak for five consecutive quarters. This is a testament to all the love from our Mi Fans where they helped us reach a monumental 500,000 in just 24 days. We believe, we are the first brand to achieve this milestone in less than a month and we are thrilled, and equally humbled by all the love we received from our customers.

In early 2018, Xiaomi launched its smart TV portfolio in India with the release of three models, which have been supplemented by Mi TVs in various screen sizes since then. At the moment, the brand sells a total of 10 Mi TV models under the 4A, 4A Pro, 4C Pro, 4X, 4X Pro, and 4 Pro lineups, with prices ranging from Rs 11,499 to Rs 54,999. Its smaller model has a 32-inch HD display, while the biggest one has a 65-inch 4K screen.

Following the success of Mi TVs in India, we have seen brands ranging from Motorola to OnePlus entering the smart TV segment of the country. However, its biggest competition could be the Realme TV, which may launch in India by the end of the year.
