OnePlus could release a special McLaren Edition of the upcoming OnePlus 7T Pro in the UK. The McLaren edition could take design cues from the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition.
OnePlus is prepping to launch the OnePlus 7T series globally and for the Indian market, the OnePlus 7T Pro will be the new product launched at this event. Based on past leaks and rumors, the OnePlus 7T Pro will be offered as an upgraded version of the OnePlus 7 Pro but it won’t differ by a huge margin. OnePlus is expected to offer a more powerful Snapdragon chipset and possibly upgrade the cameras slightly. However, there’s a lot that we still don’t know about the OnePlus 7T Pro, except for the fact that a McLaren Edition is probably coming soon.
Pete Lau, the OnePlus CEO, has shared an image of a box of what’s possibly the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition. The post doesn’t mention any relation of the phone to a McLaren Edition but the image gives enough hints of this device being a possibility. The lid on the box has a carbon fiber finish while the base has orange accents. The orange accent at the bottom of the box is quite similar to the papaya orange theme that McLaren uses on its racing cars.
Almost a month ago, there were rumors of OnePlus doing a McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 7T Pro and in the renders, a OnePlus 7T Pro was shown wearing the same McLaren Edition design as last year’s OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. There are chances that OnePlus could carry over the same design for the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition or it could tweak it for this year, given that the McLaren livery on their F1 racing car now uses a combination of Papaya Orange and Blue.
While the possibility of the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition seems high, the leaks have already given us a fair idea of what to expect from the launch event on October 10. The OnePlus 7T Pro will surely get the same upgrades that the OnePlus 7T got a few weeks ago. The presence of the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset with superior graphics performance seems likely along with the faster Warp Charge 30T.
The rest of the phone seems to be quite similar to the older OnePlus 7 Pro. Hence, the same 6.65-inch Optic AMOLED display with curved edges and no notch – thanks to a pop-up selfie camera – will remain. On top of that, the impressive triple rear camera is also expected to remain at the back. However, expect the OnePlus 7T Pro to also get the Macro mode from the OnePlus 7T.
