The biggest challenge in front of Huawei and Honor right now is to convince people to purchase their phones with Google services

Honor V30 series will be launching very soon in China, followed by the global launch sometime later this year. The Chinese subsidiary of Huawei already confirmed the Honor V30 would ship with the company’s in-house Kirin 990 5G SoC that was unveiled a few days ago. According to a new tip, the Honor V30 series will have two phones- Honor V30 and the Honor V30 Pro, packed with features like punch-hole dual selfie cameras, Kirin 990 5G chipset, wireless charging, 40W wired fast charging and a 60MP primary rear camera for the V30 Pro. The Honor V20 was launched last year around the same time and it’s high time for an upgrade as well. The Honor V20 arrived as Honor View 20 in global markets including India and the same might happen with the Honor V30 series as well.

Honor V30 and V30 Pro Launching Soon: What We Know So Far

Unlike other phones releasing these days, the Honor V30 series will feature LCD displays, so there won’t be in-display fingerprint scanners as well. Starting with the Honor V30, the phone will feature an LCD with a single front-facing camera located on the top left corner of the screen. Underneath, the Honor V30 will have the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 990 chipset, clubbed with up to 8GB of RAM. It’s also said that the V30 will feature 60MP triple camera setup on the back, beating the company’s own Mate 30 series which comes with a 40MP primary rear camera. The Honor V30 is said to ship with a 4000mAh battery along with 22.5W SuperCharge support.

As for the Honor V30 Pro, the phone will offer dual punch-hole selfie cameras similar to the Galaxy S10+ smartphone. Under-the-hood, the V30 Pro may feature the Kirin 990 5G chipset and it could come in an 8GB RAM variant as well. This information is revealed by a tipster Teme (@RODENT950) on Twitter, stating the V30 Pro will have a 60MP quad-camera setup. Furthermore, the smartphone is also rumored to come with a 4200mAh battery with 40W SuperCharge support and 15W wireless charging support.

Honor V30 and V30 Pro: Will it Run Google Apps?

The biggest challenge in front of Huawei and Honor right now is to convince people to purchase their phones with Google services. Huawei recently launched the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro smartphones, however, the phones lack Google services which did not go well with the consumers across the world. Yes, in China, all the Android smartphones will ship without Google services, but globally, that strategy does not. The reason behind Huawei phones lacking Google services is the trade ban imposed by the United States.

However, the ban was lifted, so we can expect the future Huawei and Honor phones to ship with Google apps like Google Play Services, Google Play Store and so on. There was a workaround to get Google services on the Mate 30 series, but it was patched just a few days ago, so there’s no way to get Google Play Store on the Mate 30 series of phones right now.

Alternatively, Huawei is preparing its own OS called HongMeng OS, which we will be able to see on the company’s smartphones releasing sometime after 2020. Huawei already confirmed the HongMeng OS would be limited to other IoT products the company releases in the near future.
