Microsoft Windows 365 is now available starting at Rs 1,555 monthly and it means you can use Windows even on iPad.
Microsoft has finally announced the prices of its Windows 365. The company rolled out its next-generation OS of Windows in July itself at Microsoft’s virtual event Inspire 2021. After which the company has recently released the price of Windows 365 for $ 20 (about Rs 1,555). According to the information, Windows 365 can be purchased in two editions Windows 365 Business and Windows 365 Enterprise. The point of use for the user is that Windows 365 can be used on desktop, laptop, and mobile as well.
What is special in Windows 365?
Windows 365 Business Edition is specifically designed to make it easier for users to access where they don’t need an Azure subscription or a domain controller. Because all the components are running inside the Microsoft cloud and Microsoft manages it. Windows 365 Business requires you to have a Microsoft 365 membership.
However, Windows 365 Enterprise is for organizations that have an IT setup and large teams. It gives users features like resize to upgrade RAM, CPU, and storage size to meet their needs.
PC-like experience on Windows 365 Cloud
The company claims that despite the two editions, Windows 365 Cloud will have a PC-like experience. Which can be accessed from a web browser via any Windows, Mac, iPad, and Android device.
Windows 365 Price in India
Windows 365 is available in India with a starting price of Rs. 1,555 per user a month and goes up to Rs. 12,295. The starting and top-end pricing of Windows 365 Business and Windows 365 Enterprise remain the same. However, Windows 365 Business SKUs are capped at 300 users per organisation. Users going for the basic Windows 365 Business SKU also require the Windows Hybrid Benefit, which is available to customers who have valid Windows 10 Pro licenses.
At the Rs. 1,555 price per month, you are getting a single virtual core processor, 2GB RAM, and 64GB storage. You can upgrade to two virtual cores and 4GB RAM at Rs. 2,180. If you don’t have a Windows 10 Pro license, you can get the basic version of Windows 356 Business at Rs. 1,865 per user a month. The top-end SKU brings eight virtual cores, 32GB RAM, and 512GB storage at Rs. 12,295 per user/ month for buying with Windows Hybrid Benefit. It is also available for regular customers who don’t have prior Windows licenses at Rs. 12,605 per user a month.
In the US, Microsoft is selling Windows 365 Business and Enterprise SKUs starting at $20 and going up to $158 per user a month.
There are also free two-month trials of Windows 365 Basic, Standard, and Premium versions that customers can get to experience the cloud PC experience, without paying the subscription charges. However, it is important to note that customers will be automatically migrated to paid subscriptions once the free trial ends.
Windows 10 Pro license is mandate forWindows 365 Business
Its single virtual core processor, 2GB RAM, and 64GB storage will cost Rs 1,555 per month. On the other hand, if you upgrade with two virtual cores and 4GB RAM, then it will cost Rs 2,180. If you do not have a Windows 10 Pro license, then you will have to buy the original version of Windows 356 Business for Rs 1,865 monthly.
The top-end SKU 8 virtual core comes with 32GB RAM and 512GB storage. To buy this, per user will have to pay Rs 12,295 monthly. Also, those regular users who do not already have Windows can buy it for Rs 12,605 monthly.
Having said that, Windows 365 is at present not meant for regular Windows PC buyers as it is aimed at enterprise customers who have specific use cases. It, thus, makes no sense to compare Windows 365 pricing with what you pay for a regular PC. However, you can put Windows 365 against Azure Virtual Desktop, which is Microsoft’s traditional virtualization offering. That comparison appears to show Windows 365 a more affordable option against the existing Azure model, as pointed out by Microsoft partner Nerdio.
