Dish TV and D2h are trying to increase their subscriber base to retain the user base. Currently, Dish TV India is the leading DTH service provider in the industry with around 40 million subscribers under its belt. As part of its new user acquisition programme, Dish TV is providing a lifetime warranty with its HD Set-Top Box. Usually, DTH operators provide a maximum of three years warranty for its Set-Top Boxes, however, Dish TV is changing that with the DishNXT HD Set-Top Box.
In addition, the new DishNXT HD Set-Top Box buyers will get one month of free subscription to any channel pack and coupons worth of Rs 2,000 from Coupon Duniya. The price of the DishNXT HD Set-Top Box has been reduced to Rs 1,590 and the company says it’s a limited period offer.

It is worth noting that the DishNXT HD Set-Top Box is the most premium offering from Dish TV and it is the high-end STB available to the users when they buy a new connection. As per the available information on the Dish TV official website, the Dish NXT HD STB is available for Rs 1,590. Now usually this cost would only include the price of the STB for the users. However, in this price, Dish TV is also bundling one-month subscription, lifetime warranty and coupons worth Rs 2,000 from Coupon Dunia. In the latest change, the company also confirmed that the Set-Top Box comes with lifetime warranty which is something very interesting to consider.
DishNXT HD Features
As we mentioned above, the DishNXT HD Set-Top Box is the most premium offering from Dish TV for the subscribers, as such, it comes with most features as well. The set-top box offers smarter, easier to use interface with intuitive functionalities. Dish TV also boasts of providing 5x picture quality and enhanced viewing experience on this STB. Besides this, the DishNXT HD STB also offers multi-lingual support so that they can interact with the STB in multiple languages. In addition to all this, the STB will also provide access to games and other apps and games. It is also worth noting that, DishNXT HD is the STB which can be paired with the DishSMRT Stick.

In comparison, the Dish NXT set-top box is available for Rs 1,490, and it offers similar features like the DishNXT HD STB except for some. On the other hand, speaking of other DTH service providers like Airtel Digital TV and Tata Sky, the former has decreased the price of its STBs by Rs 200 on both HD and SD variant. Whereas Tata Sky has reduced the price of its STB by Rs 400 thus bringing down the price of the SD variant of STB down to Rs 1,399 and the HD variant price to Rs 1,499.
No DTH Operator is Providing Lifetime Warranty for Set-Top Boxes
What separates Dish TV from other DTH operators in this aspect is the warranty section. No other DTH operator in the industry is currently offering a lifetime warranty for its Set-Top Boxes. Even the popular Tata Sky is providing just three years of warranty for its Set-Top Boxes and that was changed from the earlier two years of warranty. Tata Sky is offering service validity of three years with its STBs, but Dish TV says lifetime warranty, of which the full details are unknown at the moment.
