The sale of the iPhone 12 Pro Max version has been 29 percent. While the sale of the iPhone 11 Pro Max was 25 percent. This is the reason why the revenue of the iPhone 12 series is 22 percent more than that of the iPhone 11 series.
The global sales of Apple iPhone 12 series smartphones has crossed the 100 million (100 million) mark in April this year. The iPhone 12 series was launched in October last year. According to the Counterpoint report, about 100 million units have been sold since the launch of the iPhone 12 smartphone. With this, Apple’s nearly 5 year old record has been broken. Before the iPhone 12, in the year 2014, the iPhone 6 made a record of more than 100 million smartphone sales. This is the 6th generation smartphone.
The Counterpoint Research report states that the iPhone 6 series was one of the most successful Apple iPhone series. The OEM sold for more than 100 million units after just seven months of its launch. The change in form factor, demand for larger screens drove the sales for iPhone 6 series. After almost seven years, Apple was able to achieve a similar feat with the iPhone 12 series. The report notes that the 5G support and OLED full OLED screen may have attracted buyers.
“In the case of the iPhone 6 series, the strong pent-up demand for larger-screen iPhones drove the sales, while for the iPhone 12 series, the addition of 5G capability and a full OLED screen attracted customers. With the ASP for Apple phones being at an all-time high, the iPhone 12 series’ volume super-cycle will also lead to a revenue super-cycle breaking its own record every year,” the report reads.
The Counterpoint research revealed that the iPhone 12 Pro Max was the most-shipped device amongst the other three variants particularly in the United States. The sales of the iPhone 12 Pro Max were 29 percent of the total series sales whereas the iPhone 11 Pro Max series sale was 25 percent. It is being said that the iPhone 12 series was not affected by the pandemic as much as the iPhone 11 series was in 2020.
Highest iPhone Sale in US
“The upgrades, which came at the same price as that of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, supported by aggressive operator promotions, helped the 12 Pro Max sales soar to make it the highest-selling device in the US consistently since December 2020. Moreover, the iPhone 12 series was also comparatively less affected by the pandemic than the iPhone 11 series. Also, consumers who held on to their devices last year due to the pandemic, upgraded to the 12 series,” the report says.
