Vodafone Idea’s new brand Vi has brought two special features. In the first, you can make your own tune and in the second you can take a photo with the logo.

Vodafone Idea launched a unified brand ‘Vi‘ on Monday with an aim to increase its customer base among rivals like Reliance Jio and Airtel. We can read this brand as ‘We’. Vodafone Idea is a joint venture between Vodafone Group of UK and Idea Cellular of India. The venture will now be known with the brand name ‘Vi’. On Monday, top executives of the company addressed the media via virtual information about the new brand. Let us know about it in detail.

A new brand will be helpful in recovering from financial crisis

Significantly, the company is currently facing a cash crunch. In December 2019, Vodafone Idea Chairman Kumar Mangalam Bina himself said that if there is no relief on the statutory arrears, the company may come to an end. The company has been relieved after the Supreme Court got ten years to repay the AGR dues. This is the reason why the company is now dreaming of taking its business to the top again with a new brand. The company said it plans to raise up to Rs 25,000 crore through debt and equity instruments, which it will use to pay government dues and network operations.

The company is satisfied with the Supreme Court’s decision

The Vi has termed the Supreme Court’s decision to give operators 10 years’ time to pay the dues of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR). However, companies will have to pay 10% of the outstanding in this financial year. Company CEO Ravinder Collision said, ‘Payments are an important part of the court’s decision in ten years. This is important because we will be able to prepare our 10-year plan. Apart from this, the initial payment of 10 percent will have to be made, our company has already made this payment.

In such a situation, according to the decision of the Supreme Court, we have to make the first payment in March 2022. This will be the first installment of ten years of payment for us. Ultimately, the outcome of the Supreme Court verdict has been good.

    Re-branding of Vodafone Idea

This is not the first time these companies have introduced themselves to the public as a new brand. According to reports, both these companies have done their rebranding about ten times. While Vodafone Idea has done its branding as Max Touch, Orange, Hutch, and Vodafone, Idea has also branded itself as Birla AT&T, Birla Tata & AT&T, and Idea Cellular. After this, these two companies together formed the Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) brand, which has now become (Vi).

    Signs of increasing mobile tariff

The Ravinder collision also hinted at increasing mobile tariffs on Monday. Collision said, ‘Vodafone Idea came together two years ago. Since then we were working towards the integration of two large networks, our people and processes. I am very happy to launch Vi today. This is an important step. With this, the process of integration has also been completed. The company is set to increase tariffs as a first step. The new tariffs will help the company improve ARPU.

It is currently Rs 114, while Airtel and Jio’s APRUs is Rs 157 and Rs 140 respectively. At the same time, he said that the government should fix the maximum rate of the minimum rate. After the launch of the new brand, the company can now announce new plans for its customers across the country.

    Reliance Jio welcomes ‘Vi’

Reliance Jio welcomed it after Vodafone Idea re-branded itself as ‘Vi’. Reliance Jio tweeted that it is happy to see the two companies together.

Vi love to see you together. @VodafoneIN @Idea #JioTogether 😉#WithLoveFromJio
