What is Wi-Fi calling or VoWiFi?
Wi-Fi calling or VoWiFi is a wireless communications technology that allows users to make and receive calls, send and receive SMS on their phone through a Wi-Fi network. The data packets are exchanged over the wireless broadband connection, which means its best use case is when the cellular signals are below par.
Calls made via third-party Wi-Fi networks are also supported on both Airtel and Jio. For now, there are no charges for using the Wi-Fi calling facility.
