The Redmi 7A launched in India just a few days ago at a starting price of Rs 5,999, but Xiaomi is already working on the Redmi 8A
Xiaomi Redmi 8A could well be the next entry-level smartphone from the house of the Chinese smartphone brand. Earlier, the Redmi 8A’s appearance on TENAA, and now, the same listing has been updated with full spec-sheet of the upcoming smartphone. The Redmi 8A seems to be a major upgrade over the Redmi 7A as it’s said to feature a 5000mAh battery, up to 4GB of RAM, massive 6.2-inch display and more.
The Redmi 7A arrived with a 5.45-inch HD+ display, 4000mAh battery, and a 12MP rear-facing camera. Also, it seems like Xiaomi will not change the hardware and camera departments on the Redmi 8A, instead, the company is focussed on offering a big display and big battery.
Xiaomi Redmi 8A Complete Specs Leaked Online
The Redmi 7A faced fierce competition from Realme C2 as the latter featured a big display and dual rear cameras. However, with the Redmi 8A, things will settle down for the major part. Going by the TENAA listing, the Redmi 8A will have a 6.2-inch HD+ display and there will be a teardrop notch on top, which results in a higher screen-on-body ratio. In terms of the panel, it’s the same HD+ one on the Redmi 8A, but we may see a bigger screen this time around.
Underneath, the Redmi 8A will have a 2.0GHz processor and it could be the Snapdragon 439 SoC we saw on the Redmi 7A. Also, the listing reveals the Redmi 8A will come in three variants- 2GB+16GB, 3GB+32GB, and 4GB+64GB. It’ surprising to see Xiaomi going for a 4GB RAM model with the Redmi 8A, but we will have to wait for the launch of the smartphone to know the exact details.
The rear camera on the Redmi 8A would still be a 12MP one and the front-facing camera with an 8MP unit. The phone will be backed by a 5000mAh battery- again a first on a Redmi A series phone, or maybe a first on any Redmi smartphone released to date.
