    NTO 2.0

In January itself, TRAI directed cable TV and DTH service providers to implement NTO 2.0 from March 1, which was later challenged by the service providers in the court.

DTH service providers Tata Sky and Airtel Digital TV have implemented TRAI NTO 2.0 for their users from 1 March. After the implementation of this new tariff order, users will now get the benefit of 200 free to air channels. Also, you will have to pay less for a multi TV connection. Users of both service providers will have to pay Network Capacity Fee (NCF) at a new rate. After the implementation of this new rule, users will be shown 200 free to air channels at Rs 153, which is double than before.NTO 2.0

In January itself, TRAI directed cable TV and DTH service providers to implement NTO 2.0 from 1 March, which was later challenged by the service providers in the court. Not only this, but multi TV users will also now have to pay up to 40 percent network capacity fee as compared to earlier. Earlier, Tata Sky users had to pay the full Rs 153 in NCF (Network Capacity Fee) for a multi TV connection. Now users will have to pay only Rs 61 only.

What is the new TRAI rate NTO 2.0?

There has been a lot of change in NTO 2.0 implemented from today compared to NTO 1.0 implemented for cable TV and DTH last year. The new tariff order has been implemented by Airtel Digital TV and Tata Sky. Other service providers and cable TV providers will soon implement this. To watch 200 free to air (FTA) channels in NTO 2.0, users have to pay Rs 153 (with GST). If users select more than 200 SD channels, then they have to pay Rs 189 (with GST).
