Xiaomi India is hosting its smart living 2020 event on September 17. On Monday the company confirmed that the Mi Band 4 will launch at the event. Xiaomi is also said to launch a new Mi TV at the smart living event. For now, there’s no information on which Mi TV the company will bring to India now. In addition to these products, Xiaomi is also gearing up to bring the “biggest update” to the existing Mi TVs. Xiaomi India has officially confirmed that Netflix support is coming to Mi TVs.
Netflix support is something almost all Mi TV consumers in the country have been waiting for and now it’s coming. “Kabhi kabhi lagta hai apun hi bhagwaan hai.” Dropping the biggest hint of the season. Turn up the volume and listen to this. Tell us your guess with #MiTV in comments. Unveiling on 17th September. #SmarterLiving 2020,” Xiaomi India said while announcing the big news for Mi TV users in the country.
We expect Xiaomi to start rolling out the Netflix support update starting September 17, the day the update is going to be announced. The rollout may happen in a phased manner. This means not all Mi TV users will get to use Netflix on their Mi TV. For now, there’s no confirmation whether all the existing Mi TVs will get Netflix support or the update will come to only select models.
Last month Xiaomi India started rolling out Android 9 update to Mi TV 4A Pro 32-inch and Mi TV 4C Pro 32-inch users in India. The company also confirmed that all other Pro series models are planned to receive this 9.0 update later.
At the September 17 event, Xiaomi will also launch the Mi Band 4 that Indian consumers have been waiting for a long time now. On Monday Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global VP Manu Jain confirmed the coming of Mi Band 4. With Band 4, it is the first time that the company is bringing a smart band with colored OLED display.
The Mi Band 4 is already available in China. In China, the Mi Band 4 comes with the price of RMB 169 that roughly translates to Rs 1,700. This price is for the variant with no NFC support. The NFC version of the Mi Band 4 is priced at RMB 229 that roughly translates to Rs 2,300. We expect both the variants of the Mi Band 4 — with and without NFC support — to launch in India next week. The Mi Band 4 is expected to launch in India with the price similar to the Mi Band 3, i.e. Rs 1,999.
