Apple is releasing iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 on September 20. The new Apple iPhone will have a new OS anyway, but the new OS will also be available in the old device. Apple announced the release of the final version of its operating system with the new iPhones.
Apple Inc on Tuesday (September 15) unveiled the iPhone 13 and a new iPad Mini, expanding 5G connectivity and showing off faster chips and faster cameras without raising the phone’s price. It also announced its Apple Watch 7 series. Along with the new device, Apple is releasing iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 on September 20th. The new Apple iPhone will have a new operating system anyway, but the new OS will also be available in the old device. Apple announced the release of the final version of its operating system with its new iPhones. iOS 15 as well as WatchOS and iPadOS will be available from September 20.
There are some interesting new features coming in iPadOS 15 and iOS 15, the most notable being notification filtering. This feature is called Focus and lets you control which notifications can come through. For example, you can block certain apps or people, you can adjust the time frame, and set up profiles with presets. These profiles can also change the app arrangement based on your usage habits.
iOS 15 features
In Apple’s new OS update, FaceTime will use Spatial Audio and Noise Reduction to block background sound during video calls. Whereas Messages allows you to search for photos, music, links, etc. that you have shared with anyone in the chat. Live Text scans text using the camera and converts it for easy sharing and editing. This feature can recognize Landmarks, Plants, Pets as well as Art.
The SmartPlay feature will be updated with a child safety feature, which will scan your personal gallery for images that contain any kind of child abuse.
There are many other new features in the new OS. You can stream TV shows and movies with your family and friends just like FaceTime. Similarly, during a video call, you can share your screen with everyone and choose from all kinds of browsing options – whether it’s searching for your favorite restaurant or viewing your favorite photos. In this, there will be an improvement in searching text in photos of offline Siri support, etc.
Links shared by other users through the Messages app on iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 will be categorised under the ‘Shared with You’ feature. This feature is built into Photos, Safari, Apple Music, Apple Podcast, and the Apple TV app. Users can change the clothes, headwear of their Memoji and also add some accessibility accessories like cochlear implants, oxygen tubes, and soft helmets. The layout of the images in the Messages app has also had a refresh.
Another new feature for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 is the Focus Mode. This new functionality lets users only enable the notifications from those apps that they deem important. Apple has provided some presets like Driving, Fitness, Gaming, Mindfulness, Reading, and more. However, users can also customise their own Focus mode. Other users will know if users have activated the Focus mode as apps like Messages will show a notification.
Apple has also redesigned the Notification centre. Now notifications will show contact photos and larger app icons that make it easier for users to differentiate between them. There is also a new feature called Notification Summary that can be scheduled. The Cupertino-based tech giant has also reworked Apple Maps. Safari also gets a new tab bar at the bottom, Tab Groups, Extensions, and Voice Search.
