DTH operator D2h has cut the prices of its HD and SD set-top boxes. The price of HD and SD set-top boxes has been reduced by Rs 100. After the deduction, the D2h HD set top box can be purchased for Rs 1,599 and the SD set top box for Rs 1,499. If the price is compared then it is quite similar to Dish TV. Dish TV’s HD set top box costs Rs 1,590 and the SD set top box costs Rs 1,490.
According to an online report, the HD and SD set-top boxes of the D2h were made available for Rs 1,699 and Rs 1,599 respectively. But now their price has been reduced by Rs 100 to Rs 1,599 and Rs 1,499. If we talk about other companies like Airtel Digital TV, Tata Sky and Sun Direct, then the cheapest set top box is of Airtel. Its HD set top box costs Rs 1,300 and the SD set top box costs Rs 1,100. At the same time, both set top boxes of Tata Sky are priced at Rs 1,499. Talking about the price of Sun Direct’s set-top box, its HD box costs Rs 1,999 and the SD box costs Rs 1,799.
Having said this, a one-month free subscription is being given with D2h Gold HD Combo Pack. It has 248 channels with HD connections. At the same time, a one-month free subscription is being given with the Gold HD Combo Pack in its SD connection. 229 channels are being given in it.
Separately, D2h revised its network capacity fee structure last month in accordance with the revised guidelines by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). D2h has got three distinct slabs where the DTH operator is offering a maximum of 200 SD channels for a monthly charge of up to Rs. 130 (Rs. 153.40 including taxes). For 201 to 220 SD channels users have to pay Rs. 150 (Rs. 177 including taxes) every month. For those who select more than 220 channels, will have to pay an NCF of Rs. 160 (Rs. 180.80 including taxes).
