Bharti Airtel is preparing to launch its video conferencing app. This video conferencing app will challenge video calling apps like Zoom Microsoft Team Google Meet.
Indian companies have been gearing up to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s self-reliant India campaign a success. Last week, Reliance Jio launched its indigenous video conferencing app JioMeet. After this, another telecom company Bharti Airtel is also preparing to launch its indigenous video conference app. The company’s video conferencing app will challenge video calling apps like Zoom, Microsoft Team, Google Meet. After using the recently launched indigenous video conferencing app Jio Meet, Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog, described Jio Meet as superior to the Zoom video conferencing app.
According to an online report, Airtel will roll out its own conferencing app for start-ups and enterprises first. After its response, the company will roll out its own conferencing app for common users. Airtel’s rival company Jio’s video conferencing app is free to use, meaning that users do not have to pay any subscription fee to use it. This conferencing can be done with 100 people simultaneously through this app. Also, there is no time limit for video conferencing like Zoom.
If Airtel’s video calling app is launched, it will strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s self-reliant India campaign even more. Having said this, in the past, the Central Government has banned 59 apps including TikTok, Helo in India, as user data privacy is getting violated through these apps. If Indian companies launch their own utility apps, this will protect user data privacy along with self-sufficient India campaign. The servers of these apps of Indian companies will remain in India and there will be no risk of them being stored outside India.
Airtel doesn’t like to compromise on the quality of their services or products. This is what Airtel will focus on with its video calling app. Right now cybersecurity is of prime importance when most of the people are working from their homes. One of the key benefits that the Airtel customers will receive is that their data will be stored locally, out of the reach of any international organisation or company. It will also result in a much better voice and video quality for the users.
