    Coronavirus Impact: Samsung, OPPO and Realme Shut Down Production Units in India

    Coronavirus, which has taken the form of a worldwide pandemic, has now started spreading in India too. Because of which smartphone manufacturer companies have discontinued their production units.

    India has also been locked down due to coronavirus which has taken the form of the epidemic worldwide. Because of this, smartphone makers have had to take a decision to discontinue their production units based in India. More than 400 people in India are affected by a coronavirus. In the last one week, the number of infected people has been increasing continuously, due to which the government has decided to lock down the complete. After the automobile companies, the smartphone maker Samsung, OPPO and Realme have decided to discontinue the manufacturing units of their smartphones.Coronavirus Impact

    It has been decided to shut down Temporary, the world’s largest manufacturing unit based in Noida, by South Korean smartphone maker Samsung. Partha Ghosh, Corporate Communications Head, Samsung India, has issued a statement saying that we have suspended our manufacturing operation in India for a while. Also, all marketing, sales and research and development office employees in India have been instructed to do the work from home.

    Apart from Samsung, smartphones from Chinese smartphone makers OPPO, Realme and Vivo are also assembled in India. These companies have also decided to discontinue production units in view of the lockdown. OPPO has also issued a statement saying that in view of the latest cases and status of Coronavirus, we have closed the factory located in Greater Noida following the government’s instruction. Also, the employees of OPPO India have been advised to work from home. Also, we have banned the travel of all our employees. We are taking care of the safety of our employees as per the instructions of the Central Government.Coronavirus Impact

    Xiaomi, another Chinese player, has also decided to shut down all manufacturing units and corporate offices, warehouses, service centers, Mi Home stores, etc., following the lockdown directive of the state governments and the central government. Realme has also decided to close its manufacturing plant in Greater Noida from 21 March.

    The Indian smartphone market is also going to be affected after being locked down due to Coronavirus. In India, the smartphone chain may stop, due to which the parts and units of the smartphone can be delayed in reaching the retail store. Realme is about to launch its new budget smartphone series in India this week. At the same time, Vivo has also shifted the launch of its V19 in April.
