Vi is showcasing a new portfolio of AI-powered customer, enterprise and industry solutions at India Mobile Congress 2026, with a focus on multilingual AI, intelligent connectivity, private networks, cybersecurity and India-focused data processing.
Vi Puts AI at the Centre of Its IMC 2026 Showcase
Vodafone Idea (Vi) is using India Mobile Congress 2026 to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can be combined with telecom connectivity to improve customer interactions and support enterprises and industries. The company is presenting the showcase under the theme “Boundless Intelligence” and the tagline “Sovereign by Design”.
Vi CEO Abhijit Kishore said the company sees intelligence as the next stage of connectivity, with AI being used to make customer experiences simpler while extending connectivity into areas such as mobility, businesses and everyday services. The company said its approach also focuses on trust, responsible deployment and India’s diverse requirements.
Personal AI Assistant Goes Beyond Traditional App Interfaces
One of the key demonstrations is a personal AI assistant designed to interact with customers in their preferred Indian language. Vi says the assistant is intended to move beyond conventional app-based interactions and can manage everyday communication and task-related activities.
The company is also demonstrating a voice-based, zero-touch customer service experience. The objective is to allow customers to complete service journeys through voice interactions rather than navigating multiple menus or relying entirely on text-based interfaces.
Vi’s description of the personal assistant includes the ability to manage nearly every voice call received by a customer. This makes the demonstration particularly relevant as telecom operators increasingly explore AI as a layer on top of traditional voice and messaging services.
AI Meets Private Networks in Smart Mining
For enterprise customers, Vi is showcasing a smart mining solution that combines private networks, edge computing, AI analytics and connected wearable devices.
The setup is designed around real-time operational information, allowing connectivity and AI systems to work together in environments where worker safety, monitoring and fast access to operational data are important. Vi is positioning this as an example of how telecom infrastructure can move beyond connectivity and become part of industrial automation and decision-making.
Connected Mobility and Software-Defined Vehicles
Vi is also highlighting connected mobility, with technologies covering eCall, advanced driver assistance systems, vehicle-to-everything communication and in-car digital experiences.
The company said its mobility platform is intended to support automakers through capabilities including voice control, personalised navigation and commerce, along with eSIM and Smart Central technologies designed to help OEMs manage connected vehicle deployments at scale.
This reflects a broader shift in telecom, where connectivity is becoming increasingly embedded into vehicles rather than being limited to smartphones and conventional consumer devices.
Vi Showcases Agentic AI and AI-Based Cybersecurity
Another major area of the showcase is enterprise AI. Vi is demonstrating an AI platform that brings together people, data, models, AI agents and enterprise systems.
The company describes its agentic AI as being capable of handling defined end-to-end processes under human oversight, while assistive AI provides copilots for employees, consumers, citizens and MSMEs. Vi also highlights real-time Indian-language translation and in-country data processing as part of its sovereign AI approach.
Cybersecurity is another part of the enterprise portfolio. Vi is showcasing an AI-led Security Operations Centre offering managed threat detection and response, combining AI-based threat detection, analytics and automation to help enterprises identify and respond to security risks.
AI Expands Into Agriculture and Education
Vi’s IMC 2026 demonstrations also extend beyond conventional telecom and enterprise applications. Its agriculture solution combines IoT, machine learning, satellite imagery and large-scale data to provide insights intended to support farmers.
The company is also showcasing an AI-powered educational storytelling initiative developed with the Vodafone Foundation and Moinee Impact Foundation. The platform allows children to turn their ideas into stories, illustrations, audio and digital books, bringing generative AI into an education-focused use case.
Vi’s AI Strategy Is Moving Beyond the Telecom Network
Vi’s IMC 2026 showcase indicates how telecom operators are increasingly looking at AI as more than a tool for customer service or network optimisation. The company’s demonstrations span consumer voice services, industrial connectivity, connected vehicles, cybersecurity, enterprise workflows, agriculture and education.
The “Sovereign by Design” positioning is also significant because Vi is linking its AI strategy with Indian-language capabilities and in-country data processing. However, the technologies showcased at IMC should be viewed as demonstrations and solutions being presented by Vi; their availability, commercial scale and customer access will depend on individual deployments.
Visitors can experience Vi’s demonstrations at Booth 2.D2 in Hall 2 at India Mobile Congress 2026, which is being held at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi from October 7 to 10.
