Reliance Jio has launched the JioExtender JE6000, a new AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 extender designed to eliminate weak Wi-Fi zones across homes. Priced at Rs 3,499, it is positioned below Jio’s AX6000 Mesh Extender and can work with Jio as well as third-party routers.
Jio JE6000 price in India
The JioExtender JE6000 is priced at Rs 3,499 in India. Jio currently lists the device with an MRP of Rs 8,999, representing a 60% discount on the listed price.
The new extender sits below Jio’s AX6000 Mesh Extender JE6801, which is currently listed at Rs 5,999. This makes the JE6000 a more affordable option for users who primarily want to improve Wi-Fi coverage without moving to Jio’s higher-end extender.
JioExtender JE6000 specifications
The JE6000 supports Wi-Fi 6 and offers combined wireless speeds of up to 3,000 Mbps. It is a dual-band device operating across the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, with Jio positioning it for lower-latency streaming, gaming and everyday connected-home use.
Jio rates the extender for coverage of up to 1,500 sq ft, although actual coverage will depend on factors such as the home layout, walls, interference and placement. The company also says the device can support more than 100 connected devices, with performance varying according to the environment and connected hardware.
The device comes with WPA3 security and a wall-pluggable design. Jio provides a one-year warranty, and the product is manufactured in India.
Mesh mode and range extender mode
One of the main differences between the JE6000 and a basic Wi-Fi repeater is its support for mesh networking. When paired with a compatible JioAirFiber Home Router or Jio Universal Router, the extender can operate in Mesh Mode and create a single Wi-Fi network with seamless roaming and automatic device switching.
For JioFiber routers and third-party routers, the JE6000 can operate in Range Extender Mode. This allows users who do not have a compatible Jio mesh setup to extend their existing Wi-Fi coverage. Jio specifically says the device is not locked to Jio connections.
Setup through the JioHome app
Jio says the JE6000 can be set up and managed through the JioHome app. Users can connect the extender to their router and follow the instructions in the app to complete the installation.
For multi-floor homes, Jio recommends using a LAN cable for inter-floor connectivity. The company also says a single extender can typically cover around 1,200 to 2,000 sq ft depending on the model and home environment, while the JE6000’s specified coverage is up to 1,500 sq ft.
Jio JE6000 vs Jio AX6000 extender
The JE6000 gives Jio customers a lower-priced Wi-Fi 6 extender option. It offers AX3000 speeds and up to 1,500 sq ft of specified coverage, while the higher-end AX6000 Mesh Extender JE6801 is listed at Rs 5,999.
For a typical apartment or smaller home where the main requirement is to eliminate dead zones rather than maximise wireless throughput, the JE6000 could make more sense at its lower price. Larger homes or users with higher networking requirements may still consider Jio’s AX6000 option.
Who can use the Jio JE6000?
The JE6000 is not restricted to Jio broadband customers. Jio says Mesh Mode works with JioAirFiber and Jio Universal Routers, while Range Extender Mode works with JioFiber routers and third-party routers.
This makes the new extender relevant beyond the Jio customer base, particularly for users looking for a Wi-Fi 6 extender that can be integrated with an existing home router.
The JioExtender JE6000 is therefore more than a simple signal repeater. Its combination of Wi-Fi 6, AX3000 speeds, mesh support, third-party router compatibility and a Rs 3,499 price gives Jio a lower-cost networking accessory alongside its more expensive AX6000 extender.
