Nothing has launched the Headphone (1) Pro, its latest flagship over-ear headphones, with a triple-driver audio system, adaptive active noise cancellation and a premium transparent design. Priced at $399 in the US, the new headphones are positioned against established premium models such as Apple’s AirPods Max 2.
Nothing Headphone (1) Pro Price and Availability
The Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is priced at $399 in the US and is available in Black and White colour options. Nothing has not yet announced India pricing or a confirmed India availability date, although the product has appeared on the company’s India website.
The new model is more expensive than the original Nothing Headphone (1), which launched in India at Rs 21,999. The Pro version moves Nothing further into the premium over-ear headphone segment.
Triple-Driver Audio System
The biggest hardware change is the triple-driver setup. The Headphone (1) Pro uses a 40mm dynamic driver for bass, a 13x8mm precision dynamic driver and an xMEMS driver with a silicone diaphragm for high frequencies. Nothing says the system is designed to provide greater separation across different parts of the frequency range.
The headphones support Hi-Res Audio and AAC, SBC, LDAC and LC3 codecs. They also support lossless USB-C audio, with wired playback reaching up to 24-bit/192kHz.
Nothing has also worked with Metropolis Studios on the headphones’ sound tuning. A dedicated Studio Mode is based on Studio B at Metropolis Studios, while users can choose from Standard, Live House, Club and Concert Hall listening modes.
Up to 46dB Adaptive ANC
The Headphone (1) Pro features an upgraded active noise cancellation system using 10 microphones. Nothing claims the real-time adaptive ANC can provide up to 46dB of noise reduction.
There is also a Transparency mode for hearing surrounding sounds, while a four-microphone system is used for calls. The headphones support Dynamic Spatial Audio with head tracking for compatible content.
Premium Metal, Glass and Titanium Design
Nothing has retained its transparent design approach but upgraded the construction for the Pro model. The headphones use an aluminium frame along with titanium components and scratch-resistant glass.
The headband is 10% wider than the previous model, while Nothing has increased the cushioning thickness for a more comfortable fit. The Headphone (1) Pro weighs 327 grams and carries an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance.
Physical controls are also part of the design, including tactile switches and a dedicated Flat EQ control. The Flat EQ switch is designed to bypass the headphones’ EQ and spatial processing, giving users a more neutral listening mode.
Up to 68 Hours of Battery Life
The Headphone (1) Pro packs a 1,060mAh battery. Nothing claims up to 68 hours of playback with ANC disabled when using AAC, while playback drops to up to 30 hours with ANC enabled.
With LDAC enabled, the claimed figures are up to 53 hours without ANC and 28 hours with ANC. The headphones also support Bluetooth 6.1, dual-device connectivity, Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair.
Nothing Headphone (1) Pro vs AirPods Max 2
Nothing is entering a segment where Apple already has a premium over-ear offering in the AirPods Max 2. Apple launched the second-generation model in March 2026 with its H2 chip, improved ANC, Adaptive Audio, Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking and lossless audio over USB-C.
In India, Apple’s AirPods Max 2 is currently priced at Rs 74,900. Apple claims up to 1.5 times more effective ANC than the original AirPods Max, while battery life is rated at up to 20 hours with ANC enabled.
The two headphones therefore take different approaches to the premium segment. Nothing is putting particular emphasis on its three-driver architecture, studio tuning, physical controls and transparent design, while Apple’s offering is closely integrated with its wider ecosystem and H2-powered audio features.
Nothing’s $399 price also places the Headphone (1) Pro below Apple’s current India pricing, although a direct India price comparison will only be possible once Nothing announces local pricing.
Nothing’s Push Into Premium Audio
The Headphone (1) Pro represents a significant expansion of Nothing’s ambitions in premium audio. Instead of making incremental changes to a conventional wireless headphone, the company has focused on the underlying audio hardware with three drivers, xMEMS technology, studio tuning and lossless USB-C playback.
The success of the product in India will depend partly on its eventual local pricing and availability. For now, Nothing has confirmed the US price but has not announced when the Headphone (1) Pro will officially go on sale in India.
