Samsung Galaxy M47 5G Price Hike Sparks Buyer Backlash

The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G price hike has triggered widespread discussion among smartphone buyers in India after the company quietly revised the handset’s pricing just eight days after its official launch. The updated prices appeared across Samsung India’s official online store and partner retail channels without any accompanying announcement, leaving many consumers surprised by the sudden increase.

Originally introduced on June 29, 2026, the Galaxy M47 5G entered the competitive mid-range smartphone market with attractive introductory pricing. However, the latest retail revisions have significantly changed its value proposition, with prices increasing by as much as Rs 8,000 depending on the storage configuration.

Samsung India has not released an official statement explaining the price revision. Industry observers suggest the adjustment could be linked to the end of launch promotions, withdrawal of bank offers, or broader component supply and manufacturing costs, although none of these reasons have been officially confirmed.

Samsung Galaxy M47 5G Price Increase Across All Variants

Every available storage variant of the Galaxy M47 5G has received a substantial price increase.

    VariantLaunch PriceRevised PriceIncrease
    6GB RAM + 128GB Storage₹25,999₹32,999₹7,000
    8GB RAM + 128GB Storage₹28,999₹36,999₹8,000
    8GB RAM + 256GB Storage₹33,999₹41,999₹8,000

The revised pricing applies across Samsung’s official sales channels and major online retailers, making the increase effective nationwide.

Galaxy M47 5G Specifications Remain Unchanged

While the pricing has changed, the device’s hardware specifications remain exactly the same.

The Galaxy M47 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protection. Powering the smartphone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor built on a 4nm manufacturing process, delivering efficient everyday performance.

For photography, Samsung equips the phone with a triple rear camera setup consisting of:

    • 50MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)
    • 5MP ultra-wide camera
    • 2MP macro camera

The smartphone is backed by a 6,000mAh battery supporting 45W wired fast charging. Samsung also promises six generations of Android OS upgrades, offering extended software support for long-term usability.

The Galaxy M47 5G is available in Rogue Red and Blaze Blue colour options.

Should Buyers Still Consider the Galaxy M47 5G?

The revised pricing places the Galaxy M47 5G in a more competitive premium mid-range category, where buyers now have additional alternatives to consider. While the smartphone continues to offer a large AMOLED display, capable processor, long software support, and a massive battery, the higher retail prices reduce the value advantage it enjoyed at launch.

Unless Samsung introduces fresh promotional offers or cashback incentives, prospective buyers will need to evaluate whether the updated pricing aligns with their budget and feature expectations.
